The Ireland women's cricket team toured Scotland in September 2022 to play three Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. [1] [2] This was the first time that The Grange Club in Edinburgh hosted a full women's international match. [3]

Sarah Bryce captained Scotland in the first two matches of the series, in the absence of her older sister Kathryn. [4] Ireland won the first match by 8 wickets, Orla Prendergast top-scoring with an unbeaten 75. [5] Rain caused a delayed start to the second game and returned after 5 overs of Ireland's run chase, resulting in a 16-run DLS win for the visitors who clinched the series. [6] The third game was abandoned due to rain, meaning that Ireland won the series 2–0. [7]

Previously, she has taken the field for English teams Warwickshire, Loughborough Lightning, Lincolnshire and Trent Rockets. She also plays for the Warriors team in FairBreak Invitational T20 tournaments.

The 2019 Netherlands Women's Quadrangular Series was a Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament that was held in Deventer, Netherlands, from 8 to 14 August 2019. It took place ahead of the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in Scotland. The series was contested between the teams of Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland and Thailand. All the matches took place at the Sportpark Het Schootsveld. Thailand won the series, after winning five of their six matches, with Scotland finishing second.

The 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier was an international women's cricket tournament held in September 2022. It was the fifth edition of the Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier and served as the qualification tournament for the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. The top two teams from the qualifier tournament would progress to the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa.

The England women's cricket team played the Pakistan women's cricket team in Malaysia in December 2019. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs), which formed part of the 2017–20 ICC Women's Championship, and three Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is). All of the matches were played at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Pakistan have played England eight times previously in WODI matches, without recording a win. In WT20Is, the teams have faced each other ten times previously, with England winning nine of those matches.

The South Africa women's cricket team toured England to play against the England women's cricket team in June and July 2022. Originally, South Africa were scheduled to tour England in September 2020. The tour was scheduled to consist of four Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and two Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with all the matches taking place at the County Cricket Ground in Derby. However, in August 2020, the tour was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In February 2022, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced a new schedule for the tour, consisting of three WODI matches, three WT20I matches, and a one-off Women's Test match. It was South Africa Women's first Test match since they played India in November 2014. A points-based system was used across all three formats of the tour.

The West Indies women's cricket team toured England to play the England women's cricket team in September 2020. The tour consisted of five Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the fixtures, after the planned tour by the South African women's team was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the matches were played behind closed doors at the County Cricket Ground in Derby.

The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was played in August 2021 in Spain. The matches were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. Originally scheduled to take place in Scotland, the tournament was moved to the La Manga Club, Spain, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The New Zealand women's cricket team toured England to play the England women's cricket team in September 2021. The tour consisted of three Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) and five Women's One Day International (WODI) matches.

The Ireland women's cricket team played the Scotland women's cricket team in May 2021. The tour consisted of four Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. The teams last played international cricket during the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier in August and September 2019. The matches all took place at Stormont in Belfast, and was the first time since 1997 that women's international cricket was played at the venue.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Scotland in September 2021 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. All of the matches took place at The Grange Club in Edinburgh. Scotland's last home international fixtures were in August 2019.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games Qualifier was a cricket tournament played in Malaysia in January 2022. Five national teams competed for one place in the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, in Birmingham, England, in July to August 2022. Matches in the qualification tournament were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is).

The South Africa women's cricket team toured Ireland to play against the Ireland women's cricket team in June 2022. The tour consisted of three Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) and three Women's One Day International (WODI) matches. The WODI matches were the part of 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship. In May 2022, Cricket South Africa named their squad for the tour, with Suné Luus leading the side in Dane van Niekerk's absence. Likewise, Cricket Ireland named their squad, with Gaby Lewis captaining the side, with Laura Delany out due to an injury. Lewis also became the youngest player to captain the Ireland Women's team in international cricket.

The England women's cricket team toured the West Indies in December 2022 to play three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and five Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is). The WODI matches formed part of the 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship.
