Irenepharsus is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Brassicaceae. [1]

Its native range is south-eastern Australia. [1]

The genus name of Irenepharsus refers to the Greek mythological goddess of Eirene. [2]

The genus was circumscribed by Helen Joan Hewson in Fl. Australia Vol.8 on page 349 in 1982.

He was a botanist and collector of fungi and spermatophytes, who worked in Indonesia and Tanzania from 1902 to 1919. He moved to Indonesia in 1896 and studied applied botany. In 1902 he moved to Africa to join the Amani Research Institute that was established that year. He returned to Germany after World War I in 1920.
