Ismail El Abassi (born 27 February 1983) is a Dutch politician from the DENK party. He is a member of the House of Representatives.
In the 2023 Dutch general election he was elected to the Dutch House of Representatives. [1] In a debate, El Abassi called for a ban on the burning of religious books, stressing a rise in antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents and the importance for individuals to practice their religion safely. Minister of Justice and Security Dilan Yeşilgöz responded that such expressions should remain legal in a liberal democracy. [2]
He was a professional football player at FC Utrecht. [3]

Marie-Fleur Agema is a Dutch politician and former spatial designer, serving as Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands and Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport in the Schoof cabinet since 2024. Agema previously served as a member of the House of Representatives for the Party for Freedom between 30 November 2006 and 2 July 2024.
Martin Bosma is a Dutch politician and former journalist who has served as the Speaker of the House of Representatives since 14 December 2023. Yeşilgöz previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021 and as State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy from 2021 until 2022.

The elections had been expected to be held in 2025 but a snap election was called after the fourth Rutte cabinet collapsed on 7 July 2023 due to immigration policy disagreements between the coalition parties.
