Delhi Cantonment was established in 1914. Until February 1938, the Cantonment Board Delhi was known as the Cantt authority. The area of the Cantonment is approx. 10,521 acres (4,258 ha). At the 2011 census, the population of the Cantonment was 116,352. The Delhi Cantonment is as Class I Cantonment Board.
