John Derek Wrighton MB, BS, FRCS (born 10 March 1933) is a retired track and field athlete.
He represented Great Britain at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. He won two gold medals at the 1958 European Championships in Stockholm, Sweden: in the men's individual 400 metres and in the 4x400 metres relay, alongside Ted Sampson, John MacIsaac, and John Salisbury. Known for both his pronounced lean when running and his erratic pacing, John Wrighton and John Salisbury marked the beginning of the renaissance of British quarter miling after the second World War. He represented England and won a silver medal in the 4 x 440 yards relay at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, Wales. [2] [3]
From 1958, Wrighton served on a short-service commission with the Royal Navy, achieving the rank of Surgeon Lieutenant, after which he was placed on the emergency list and retired in May 1961. He then completed his medical training becoming FRCS in 1967 and made his home in Dorset where he worked for many years as an orthopaedic surgeon.
Wrighton was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree by the University of Bournemouth in 2007. Wrighton served on the board of the university for seven years. [4]
Allyn Condon is an English former sprinter and bobsleigher. At the Vancouver Olympic Games in 2010 he became the seventh person to have competed for Great Britain in both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games having already competed in the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Adeoye "Ade" Olubunmi Mafe is a retired male English sprinter who competed in the 200 metres and 400 metres. At the age of 17, he represented Great Britain at the 1984 Olympic Games, reaching the 200 metres final. Also at 200 meters, he is a three-time World Indoor medallist and the 1989 European Indoor champion. After retiring from athletics, he went on to work as a fitness coach for several football clubs, including Chelsea, Millwall, Milton Keynes Dons, West Bromwich Albion and Watford. On 8 Jan 2019 Ade appeared on The Chase.
Andrew David Jameson is an English sports commentator and former competitive swimmer. Active as an elite swimmer in the mid-to-late 1980s he represented Great Britain in two consecutive Summer Olympics, the FINA World Championships, LEN European Championships, as well as England in the Commonwealth Games. At his peak between 1986 and 1988 he won the gold medal in 100 metre butterfly at the 1986 Commonwealth Games, the 1987 European Aquatics Championships and the 1987 Summer Universiade, as well as the 100 metre freestyle gold at the same Universiade. Winning the bronze medal at the 1986 World Aquatics Championships, Jameson's career in the pool culminated in winning the bronze medal in the 1988 Summer Olympics, his second and final Olympic Games.
Kim Simmone Geraldine Jacobs is a female retired British athlete who competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres. She represented Great Britain at four Olympic Games (1988–96), winning a bronze medal as a 17-year-old at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics in the 4 x 100 metres relay. She also won a relay bronze medal at the 1990 European Championships and relay medals at three Commonwealth Games.

Mark Ashton Richardson is an English former athlete who competed mainly in the 400 metres and 4 x 400 metres relay for Great Britain and England. He won the gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 1997 World Championships, and again in the same event at the 1998 European Championships. At the Olympic Games, he won relay silver and bronze medals in 1992 and 1996. In the individual event, Richardson's most significant international results were silver at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and bronze in the 1998 European Championships, in addition to three domestic championships gold medals between 1995 and 2002.
