Jorgen Hus (born September 12, 1989) is a professional Canadian football long snapper for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Amateur career

Hus played CIS football for the Regina Rams and also played junior football for the Saskatoon Hilltops.

Professional career

Early career

Hus was drafted in the fourth round, 31st overall by the Edmonton Eskimos in the 2013 CFL Draft. However, he first spent time with the National Football League's St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs from 2013 to 2014.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Hus' CFL rights were traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for Cory Watson on May 11, 2015, and he signed with the Roughriders on May 21, 2015. [1] [2] He played in his first professional game on June 27, 2015, against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He played in all 18 regular season games in his rookie year in 2015 where he also recorded five special teams tackles. [3]

Hus re-signed to a one-year contract extension with the Roughriders on December 16, 2020. [4] He signed a two-year extension on November 14, 2023. [5]

He has also been a member of the Edmonton Eskimos. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the BC Lions. After being traded to the Edmonton Eskimos, he became the seventh Canadian running back since 1955 and the first since 2000 to rush for over 1,000 yards while also winning the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian Award. Alexander Krausnick-Groh is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman and long snapper. He was drafted 27th overall by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2011 CFL Draft and signed with the team on June 1, 2011. He played CIS football for the Calgary Dinos.

The 2016 CFL Draft took place on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 7:00 PM ET on TSN2 and RDS2. 70 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The draft was expanded to eight rounds, which is the most since there were eight rounds in the 1992 CFL Draft. This draft also featured the most draft selections since 1987 when 72 players were drafted.

The 2015 Saskatchewan Roughriders season was the 58th season for the team in the Canadian Football League. The Roughriders finished with a 3–15 record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. For the third consecutive season, the club held their training camp at Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon with the main camp beginning on May 31. On 30 August 2015, with their ninth straight loss and a record of 0 wins and 9 losses, the Roughriders achieved the third-worst start to a season in club history.
