Dhel Duncan-Busby (born October 3, 1999) is a Canadian professional football wide receiver for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Bemidji State.

Early life

Duncan-Busby was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. [1] He played high school football at Madison High School in Madison, Ohio. [2] [3] Afterwards, he played one year at Midwestern Preparatory Academy. [2]

College career

Duncan-Busby played college football for the Bemidji State Beavers from 2019 to 2023. [4] [2] [5] He was redshirted in 2018. [2] He appeared in 10 games in 2019, catching 25 passes for 393 yards and three touchdowns. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Duncan-Busby played in 12 games, all starts, during the 2021 season, recording 49 receptions for 725 yards and five touchdowns. He started all 13 games in 2022, catching 48 passes for 896 yards and eight touchdowns, earning first team All-NSIC North honors. [2] He appeared in 12 games in 2023, totaling 49 receptions for 825 yards and 11 touchdown, garnering first team All-NSIC and second team D2CCA All-Super Region 4 recognition. [2]

Professional career

Duncan-Busby was selected by the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in the third round, with the 23rd overall pick, of the 2024 CFL draft. [6] [7] [8] He officially signed with the team on May 6. [9] He was moved to the 6-game injured list on June 1, and transferred to the practice roster on July 24. [1] [9] Duncan-Busby was promoted to the active roster on August 15, 2024. [1]

Jason Clermont is a former professional Canadian football slotback who retired after ten seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Clermont started his professional career with the BC Lions after being selected in the 2002 CFL Draft. He played amateur football in his hometown of Regina, starting with the Regina Rams junior football club, and continuing with the team after they became affiliated with the University of Regina. While playing university football, Clermont was named an All-Star and All-Canadian, as well as the Most Valuable Player in the Canada West Conference and represented Western Canada as one of only 2 Canadian players in the East West Shrine Bowl in San Francisco. As a professional, Clermont's honours have included being named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 2002, Most Outstanding Canadian in 2004 and 2007, as well as the Most Valuable Canadian at the 2004 Grey Cup. Clermont captured a Grey Cup championship with the Lions in 2006. He joined his hometown Roughriders at the start of the 2009 season after being released by the Lions and is now a member of the Regina Sports Hall of Fame as well as the University of Regina Hall of Fame and BC Lions Wall of Fame.

Andrew Fantuz is a former professional Canadian football wide receiver. Fantuz spent the majority of his professional career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Riders for six seasons after he was drafted by them in the first round of the 2006 CFL Draft. He then played six seasons for the Tiger-Cats. Fantuz was also signed by the Chicago Bears in 2011. He played CIS football for the Western Ontario Mustangs.
