Judo Australia (JA) is the National Sporting Organisation recognised by the Australian Sports Commission for the sport of Judo in Australia.

The Australian National Judo Championships are the highest level of judo competition in Australia. The championships are held annually by Judo Australia, and qualified domestic and overseas judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home states or countries. Both the women's and men's championships began in 1956, with the championships being held in Wollongong, New South Wales between 2012 and 2015.

The Oceania Judo Union (OJU) is the Oceania governing body in judo. It is a member of the world governing body International Judo Federation (IJF). The OJU was founded in 1965 with three member countries, Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and now has 20 member countries. The first OJU Championships were held in Auckland, New Zealand in 1965. Subsequent OJU Championship were held in 1966 Sydney, Australia; 1969 Taita, New Zealand, 1970 Noumea, New Caledonia, 1975 Christchurch, New Zealand then every second year until 2012, and every year since then until 2018.

Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre is a multi-purpose arena and sports facility located at Carrara on Queensland's Gold Coast in Australia, capable of seating 5,000 fans. The centre is located adjacent to the Carrara Indoor Stadium and forms a part of the Gold Coast Sports Precinct. A section of the centre also serves as a sports administration and indoor training facility for the Gold Coast Suns with the facility being called the Austworld Centre under a naming rights partnership, who play home matches and train outdoors at the adjacent Carrara Stadium and training oval.

Leslie (Les) James Bruce Young has been coaching and administering volleyball clubs since 1989, state volleyball teams since 1997 and national teams since 2001. Les is the Head Coach of the Canberra Heat Men who compete in the Australian Volleyball League, the program director for the Volleyball Australia Junior Men's Development Program and the Program Head Coach for the Australian Youth Boys squad. Some notable coaching roles include Australia's second assistant coach for the 2013 FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship, head coach for the 2018 Asian Boys' U18 Volleyball Championship and head coach for the 2017 and 2018 Men's AVC Club Volleyball Championship.

Kody Andrews is a New Zealand judoka, who won the silver medal in the over-100 kg category representing his country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
