Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue is a major avenue in Dhaka. [1] [2] The avenue was formerly known as VIP Road. [3] It starts from Doyal Square at University of Dhaka and ends at Bijoy Sarani Intersection.[ citation needed ] [4] [5] [6]
Kazi Nazrul Islam was a Bengali poet, short story writer, journalist, lyricist and musician. He is the national poet of Bangladesh. Nazrul produced a large body of poetry, music, messages, novels, and stories with themes, that included equality, justice, anti-imperialism, humanity, rebellion against oppression and religious devotion. Nazrul Islam's activism for political and social justice as well as writing a poem titled as "Bidrohī", meaning "the rebel" in Bengali, earned him the title of "Bidrohī Kôbi". His compositions form the avant-garde music genre of Nazrul Gīti.

VIP Road is a major thoroughfare connecting the city of Kolkata with Dumdum/Kolkata Airport. To reduce traffic jams especially in the crossings of Kestopur and Baguiati, a flyover is constructed over the stretch between Dum Dum Park and Raghunathpur, which opened in March 2015. Another flyover connecting VIP Road with EM Bypass was opened in 2011, reducing traffic bottlenecks at Ultadanga crossing. This road is renamed after Kazi Nazrul Islam, a famous Bengali poet from India.

The scenes of the film have been shot in the places where the memories of Kazi Nazrul Islam are scattered from his birth to his death. In the film, the biography of Kazi Nazrul Islam is narrated in the background voice of Asaduzzaman Noor and Progya Laboni. The documentary was commercially released in theaters on 20 November 2020.
