The Kenya Rugby League is the governing body for the sport of rugby league in Kenya. The organisation oversees the national team as well as domestic competitions run within the country, including the Kenya RL Premiership.

In November 2021, the European Rugby League recommended that the federation should be awarded Observer status of the International Rugby League. [1] In August 2023, Kenya was elevated to Affiliate membership of the IRL. [2]

The Kenya national rugby league team represent Kenya in the sport of rugby league football. The team is trying to qualify into 2025 Rugby League World Cup for the first time. [5]

It was developed by French rugby league player, coach, and official, Wally Salvan in 2004. Unlike other wheelchair sports, people without disabilities are allowed to compete in top-level competition. The sport is also unique in the fact that men and women of any age can play against each other in top-level competition.

The IRL Men's World Rankings are the ranking system for men's national teams in the sport of rugby league football. The teams of the member nations of the International Rugby League, rugby league football's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. A point system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of IRL-recognized international matches. Under the existing system, rankings are based on a team's performance over the last three years, with more recent results and more significant matches being more heavily weighted to help reflect the current competitive state of a team.

The Federazione Italiana Rugby League is the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in Italy. The association was formed in 2008. They acquired full membership status of the RLEF in March 2017. and of the RLIF in November 2017.

The Latvia Rugby League is the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in Latvia. The Association was formed in 2009. In March 2024, they were expelled from the IRL due to inactivity.

The Spanish Rugby League Association also known as España Rugby League, is the governing body of rugby league in Spain. The body was officially founded in 2013 and has held affiliate-level membership of the Rugby League European Federation since 2015, making the national team eligible to qualify for the Rugby League World Cup.

The Hellenic Federation of Rugby League, or simply Hellas Rugby League, was the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in Greece between 2013 and 2016. The association was founded in 2013 by Anastasios "Tasos" Pantazidis.

The Belgian Rugby League Association is the governing body for rugby league in Belgium. It was formed in early 2009 as Belgium Rugby League and given Observer status by the RLIF. The first Belgian club was established in Wavre and on 11 July 2009 they faced Hammersmith Hills Hoists in the first match to be played in Belgium. Two weeks later, the Belgium XIII representative side defeated a Catalonia XIII in the Euro Med Challenge. In 2010, Belgium were scheduled to compete in the European Bowl, but withdrew from the tournament and development of the sport in Belgium was suspended.

The 2026 Men's Rugby League World Cup will be the seventeenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup, and will be one of three major tournaments part of the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

The Association of Rugby League Clubs is the governing body for rugby league in Russia. The association was formed in 2010, bringing together amateur clubs and regional RRLF clubs after the expulsion of the Russian Rugby League Federation and essentially rugby league itself by the Order of the Ministry of Tourism RUSSIA № 21 from State Register of Sports of Russia.

The Greek Rugby League Federation (GRLF), formerly Greek Rugby League Association (GRLA), is the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in Greece since 2017 and officially recognised by the Greek Ministry of Sports in August 2022.

Rachel Ankomah is the founder of Accra Majestics Rugby League Club which is based in Accra. She is also a Ghanaian rugby league enthusiast, content creator and an advocate for women in sports. She was the first women's rugby league coordinator in Ghana and a pioneer for the sport in Ghana.
