The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) is the governing body for rugby league in Fiji. They are based in the capital Suva. [3] [4]
The FNRL were founded in 1992[ citation needed ] and have been full members of the Rugby League International Federation since its formation in 1998. They have also been a full member of the Asia-Pacific Rugby League Confederation since its formation in 2010. The original formation in 1992 was organised by two local businessmen Culden Kamea and Tony Ahkoy. The original six team competition was funded by the Sharp Corporation which sponsored their entry into a World Sevens Rugby League Cup in Sydney Australia where they won the Bowl. On return to Fiji a six team completion was formed with ex Rugby Union players once again sponsored by the Japanese Sharp Corporation. In the following year Mike Deniss coached and Managed a tour of Queensland country playing 3 matches and finally gaining support from the ARL and World RL through Bob Abbott and Authurson.

The Wales national rugby union team represents Wales in men's international rugby union. Its governing body, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), was established in 1881, the same year that Wales played their first international against England. The Fiji national rugby league team, nicknamed the Bati, has been participating in international rugby league football since 1992. The team is controlled by the governing body for rugby league in Fiji, Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL), which is currently a member of the Asia-Pacific Rugby League Confederation (APRLC). Fiji have thrice reached the semi-finals of the Rugby League World Cup, in 2008, 2013 and 2017, and are currently ranked 6th in the International Rugby League's World Rankings. They are coached by Fijian Wise Kativerata, and their captain is Tui Kamikamica. The team will typically perform the hymn "Noqu Masu" before each match, singing in unison.
The Samoa national rugby league team represents Samoa in rugby league football and has participated in international competition since 1986. Known as Western Samoa before 1997, the team is administered by Rugby League Samoa and are nicknamed Toa Samoa.

The Asia-Pacific Rugby League (APRL) is an umbrella body for nations playing the sport of rugby league football in Oceania, East and South East Asia, and South America. The Confederation aims to act as a counterpart to the European Rugby League.
The Fijian Drua is a professional rugby union team based in Fiji that competes in the Super Rugby. The team was created by the Fiji Rugby Union and launched in August 2017, shortly before the 2017 National Rugby Championship. The team previously competed in the Australian National Rugby Championship competition between 2017 and 2019, when the tournament was disbanded.
The Rugby League Pacific Championship is a rugby league tournament for national teams in Oceania. Its inaugural tournament was in 2019 as the "Oceania Cup".
