Kjell Engebretsen

Kjell Engebretsen (born 29 April 1941 in Oslo) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party.

He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus in 1993, and was re-elected on two occasions.

Engebretsen was a member of Frogn municipality council in the periods 19831987 and 19911993. During these periods he was also a member of Akershus county council.

Akershus County Municipality was the regional governing administration of the old Akershus county in Norway. The county municipality was established in its most recent form on 1 January 1976 when the law was changed to allow elected county councils in Norway. The county municipality was dissolved on 1 January 2020, when Akershus was merged with the neighboring counties of Buskerud and Østfold, creating the new Viken county which is led by the Viken County Municipality. Akershus is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. It consists of the municipalities of Ås, Asker, Aurskog-Høland, Bærum, Eidsvoll, Enebakk, Frogn, Gjerdrum, Hurdal, Lillestrøm, Lørenskog, Lunner, Nannestad, Nes, Nesodden, Nittedal, Nordre Follo, Rælingen, Ullensaker and Vestby in the county of Akershus.
