Ladwa is a town and a municipal committee, just 18 km from Kurukshetra city in Kurukshetra district in the Indian state of Haryana. In 2007, Ladwa legislative assembly constituency was created [1] comprising 126,704 registered voters and come under Kurukshetra (Lok Sabha constituency). The Member of Parliament is Naveen Jindal & Member of the Legislative Assembly (India) is Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab Singh Saini.

Geography

Ladwa has an average elevation of 209 m (686 ft). It is located on the Kurukshetra - Yamunanagar - Saharanpur road and is also close to the towns of kurukshetra, Shahbad, Radaur and Indri, India. The nearest major Highway is National Highway 1 (India) known as Grand Trunk Road which is 14.5 km (9.0 mi) west direction of downtown. Ladwa has one of the best new grain markets all over Asia [ citation needed ].

According to the 2011 Census of India, [2] Ladwa has a total population of 28,887 person comprising 15,345 Males and 13,542 Females. Males constitute 53.1% and females 46.87% of the population. Ladwa has an average literacy rate of 72.3%, lower than the national average of 72.99%: male literacy is 76.3%, and female literacy is 67.8%. In Ladwa, 12.4% of the population lies between age group 0–6 years.

The closest Train Stations are located at Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Karnal and Ambala. The divisional headquarters of Northern Railway Zone (India) and major Train station are located at Ambala Cantonment in the Ambala which is about 45 km (28 mi) away. A new railway line from Karnal to Yamunanagar will go via Ladwa.

The road transportation is provided by Haryana Roadways which runs on all the Inter State and City routes. Moreover, Village are well-connected by Bus.

Presently, he is Vice-President of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi.

Jharauli Khurd is a village located in Shahabad Markanda town of Kurukshetra district in Haryana state of India. It is about 4 km off the Grand Trunk Road.The village is surrounded by Babain Tehsil towards East, Ambala Tehsil towards North, Thanesar Tehsil towards South, Kurukshetra Tehsil towards South. According to the 2011 Census, its population was 1301 of which, 515 were a scheduled caste population. There were 241 families, of which only two were Muslim families. The area of the village is 345 hectares, with one primary school, one middle school and one veterinary dispensary in the village. The Literacy rate is 75.31 % which is slightly lower than that of Haryana. The village is administrated by an elected Sarpanch. Mr. Hartinder Pal Singh is the present Sarpanch of the village. Wheat, paddy and sugar cane are the main yields of the village. The village code of Jharauli Khurd is 58347.

The Trans-Haryana Expressway or the Ambala–Narnaul Expressway (NH-152D) is a 227-km long, 6-lane wide greenfield access-controlled expressway, connecting the cities of Ambala and Narnaul in the state of Haryana. The expressway connects Gangheri village in Kurukshetra district with Surana village on Narnaul Bypass (NH-148B) in Mahendragarh district. It passes via Kaul, Pundri, Pillu khera, Julana, Kalanaur, Charkhi Dadri and Kanina. It will reduce the distance from Chandigarh to Delhi, Narnaul, and Jaipur, thus decongesting NH-44 and NH-48.

The Ambala Shamli Expressway, part of larger 450-kilometre-long (280 mi) six-lane Bareilly–Ludhiana Economic Corridor, is an under construction 6-lane access-controlled 121.786-kilometre-long (75.674 mi) expressway in the Indian states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
