Lanark RFC is a rugby union side based in Lanark, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. [1] The club was founded in 1936. [2]

History

The club operate a 1st XV and a youth section for boys and girls. [3] The youth teams are known as the Lanark Eagles. [4]

Four of Lanark's youth team were invited to join the Scottish Rugby Academy. [5]

The infield of the old Lanark Racecourse now hosts Lanark's rugby pitches. [6]

The club secured its first league title in 75 years when it won the West Division 3 championship in 2011. [7]

The club was removed from the West Division 3 league near the end of season 2017–18; but they are back in the league for season 2019–20. The temporary removal was due to not fulfilling five fixtures due to player shortages. [2]

The club now state that they are much better off with players; with numbers over 30 attending training. [8]

Dalziel Rugby Football Club, formerly known as Dalziel High School Former Pupils Rugby Club, currently has a playing and social membership hailing from Motherwell, Wishaw, Bellshill and other parts of Lanarkshire, Scotland. Historically the club was closely associated with Dalziel High School in Motherwell from which it takes its name. A number of current players are former pupils of Dalziel High School. However, during the 1990s it was felt that the club should drop the "former pupil" tag and be known, in what was felt to be a more inclusive manner, as Dalziel RFC.

Hyndford Quarry is an aggregates quarry in Lanark, South Lanarkshire operated by Cemex UK. It takes its name from the nearby village of Hyndford and has an entry on the register of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland. The quarry is bordered to the south by the River Clyde, to the west by Robiesland Farm, to the north by Lanark Racecourse and to the east by Hyndford. The quarry is a restricted area, but can be viewed from the road to New Lanark through Robbiesland Farm, which runs in parallel to Hyndford Quarry's west boundary.

Clydesdale RFC are a South Lanarkshire rugby union club who compete in the West Division Three of the Scottish Rugby Union leagues. They are currently expanding their Senior and Junior rugby set-ups.

Lenzie RFC is a rugby union side based in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The club was founded in 1898. They play their home games at Viewfield.
