The Latvian National Road Race Championship is a road bicycle race that takes place inside the Latvian National Cycling Championship, and decides the best cyclist in this type of race.

Gatis Smukulis is a Latvian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2009 and 2018 for the Ag2r–La Mondiale, HTC–Highroad, Team Katusha, Astana and Delko–Marseille Provence KTM teams. Smukulis won the Latvian National Road Race Championships in 2016, and won six consecutive Latvian National Time Trial Championships between 2011 and 2016.

Aleksejs Saramotins is a Latvian professional road cyclist, who last rode for UCI Continental team Interpro Cycling Academy. He has won the Latvian National Road Race Championships on seven occasions and has represented his country at the Summer Olympic Games and the UCI Road World Championships.

The event was established in 1899, a professional championship was established in 1907 and the women's championship was established in 1951. Several additional categories were added later. It is positioned on the right-wing on the political spectrum and it is staunchly socially conservative and Eurosceptic. It was founded in January 2021 and is led by Saeima deputy Aldis Gobzems.
