The Lithuanian National Time Trial Championships have been held since 1995.
The UCI Road World Championships are the annual world championships for bicycle road racing organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The UCI Road World Championships consist of events for road race and individual time trial, and as of 2019 a mixed team relay.
The men's individual time trial event at the UCI Road World Championships is the men's world championship for the road bicycle racing discipline of time trial. Introduced in 1994 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world's governing body of cycling, the event consists of a time trial covering a distance of approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) over flat or rolling terrain. Riders start separated by two-minute intervals; the one that completes the course in the shortest time is the winner, and is entitled to wear the rainbow jersey in time trial events for the forthcoming season.
The 2009 UCI Road World Championships were held in Mendrisio, Switzerland, between September 23 and September 27, 2009. The event consisted of a road race and a time trial for men, women and men under 23.

He competed at the 2012 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. He won the silver medal in the omnium at the 2016 Asian Cycling Championships.

Andria "Antri" Christoforou is a Cypriot professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team Human Powered Health. In 2016, she became the National Champion for Cyprus in both the road race and individual time trial. She was selected to represent Cyprus at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She qualified to represent Cyprus at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the women's road race.
Katrine Aalerud is a Norwegian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Movistar Team. She rode in the women's road race at the 2016 UCI Road World Championships, finishing in 39th place.

In 2020 Baleišytė was awarded the Lithuanian Cycling Federation title for Lithuanian female cyclist of the year.
James Fouché is a New Zealand professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Bolton Equities Black Spoke Pro Cycling. In 2019 Fouche won the combined under-23 and elite New Zealand National Road Race Championships.

Teniel Campbell is a racing cyclist from Trinidad and Tobago, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Team BikeExchange–Jayco. In 2018, she won four medals at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. The next year, she won the U23 individual time trial at the Pan American Road and Track Championships. She also won both stages, the general classification, the points classification and the youth classification in the Kreiz Breizh Elites Dames.
The 2021 national road cycling championships were held throughout the year and were organised by the UCI member federations. They began in Qatar with the men's time trial event on 26 January.
The 2022 national road cycling championships are being held throughout the year and are organised by the UCI member federations. They began in Australia with the men's and women's time trial events on 12 January.
Mārtiņš Pluto is a Latvian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Abloc CT. He competed in the road race at the 2021 UCI Road World Championships. He had his first win in a UCI race at the 2022 Midden–Brabant Poort Omloop.
