Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Trek–Segafredo. Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial. In 2015, she won the time trial at the first European Games and the silver medal in the team time trial at the world championships.
The Australian National Road Race Championships, are held annually with an event for each category of rider: Men, Women & under 23 riders. The event also includes the Australian National Time Trial Championships since 2002. The Australian Championships were officially known as the Scody Australian Open Road Cycling Championships from 1999 to 2010, taking the name of their main sponsor. This changed to the Mars Cycling Australia Road National Championships from 2011 but they are more commonly referred to as The Nationals. The under 23 championships were introduced in 2001. Note that these results do not currently include the senior and junior amateur road race championships that were held prior to the open era.

Matthias Brändle is an Austrian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Israel–Premier Tech. Brändle is a seven-time winner of the Austrian National Time Trial Championships, and also won the Austrian National Road Race Championships in 2016.
Michael Hepburn is an Australian track and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Team BikeExchange–Jayco. He is a two-time Olympics silver medalist.
The 2015 UCI Road World Championships took place in Richmond, Virginia, United States from September 19–27, 2015. It was the 88th Road World Championships. Peter Sagan won the men's road race and Lizzie Armitstead won the women's road race.
Team BikeExchange–Jayco is an Australian professional road race cycling team. Launched in January 2011, it competes at UCI WorldTeam level. The team was formed under the management of Andrew Ryan and Shayne Bannan, with Neil Stephens and Matt White as Sporting Directors. The team rides Giant bicycles, and wear Giordana Cycling clothing and Scott eyewear. The team has financial backing from Australian businessman Gerry Ryan who owns Jayco Australia.
Nathan Peter Haas is an Australian cyclist. He competed as a professional road racer until the end of 2021. He started competing full time in gravel events 2022.
Kristijan Đurasek is a Croatian professional road bicycle racer, who is currently suspended from the sport. He has been competing since 2005, and has represented Croatia at two Summer Olympic Games, in 2012 and 2016.

Natnael Berhane is an Eritrean professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for amateur team AlShafar Jumeirah. He is a two time African cycling champion in 2012 and 2013.
The 2016 UCI Road World Championships took place in Doha, Qatar, in October 2016. The championships was moved from the traditional September to October to avoid extreme hot and blustery weather. The event consisted of a road race, a team time trial and a time trial for elite men and women and a road race and a time trial for men under-23, junior men and junior women. It was the 89th Road World Championships and the first time that Qatar and the Middle East hosted the championships.
Brisaspor is a Turkish professional road bicycle racing team based in Kocaeli, and sponsored by the local Brisa Bridgestone Sabancı Lastik company of Turkish Sabancı Group, which produces and distributes Bridgestone tires from Japan. The cycling team is part of the Brisaspor Club.

Tsgabu Gebremaryam Grmay is an Ethiopian professional road cyclist from Tigray, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Team BikeExchange–Jayco. He is a three time national road race champion, six time national time trial champion, and one time African time trial champion. Tsgabu became the first Ethiopian professional cyclist when he joined MTN–Qhubeka in 2012. In 2013 Tsgabu became the first Ethiopian to win an international cycling event when he won the fifth stage of the Tour de Taiwan. He made his UCI World Tour debut at the 2013 Giro di Lombardia.
The 2015 national road cycling championships began in Australia with the time trial event on 8 January, as is tradition.

The Turkish National Road Race Championship is a cycling race organized by the Turkish Cycling Federation. The winners of each event are awarded with a symbolic cycling jersey just like the national flag, these jerseys can be worn by the rider at other road racing events in the country to show their status as national champion. The champion's stripes can be combined into a sponsored rider's team kit design for this purpose. Onur Balkan is the current champion.
