Laura Giordano (born 9 June 1979 in Palermo, Italy) is an Italian lyric soprano.

Life and career

Born in Palermo, Laura Giordano made her operatic debut at a very young age in Noye's Fludde by Britten. [1] She went on to sing in numerous opera houses and festivals in Europe, Asia and North and South America, including Teatro alla Scala, the Salzburg Festival, Opéra National de Paris, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, and the Santa Fe Opera in New Mexico. The core of Giordano's repertory is formed by roles in the operas of Donizetti, Verdi, Mozart and Puccini. She sang Musetta in Puccini's La bohème multiple times, including performances at Teatro alla Scala, [87] [88] Teatro Real in Madrid, [89] in Catania, [90] [91] and at Opéra Royal de Wallonie. [92] [93] She has also sung Lauretta in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi in a performance in Lisbon. [94]

Giordano has performed as a soloist in Mozart's Requiem at St. John in the Lateran; [143] Rossini's Stabat Mater in Palermo; [144] [145] Poulenc's Stabat Mater in Palermo; [146] Schubert's Mass No. 6 at Festival de Saint-Denis; [147] [148] Mozart's Krönungsmesse at the Mozart Festival in La Coruña; [149] Mahler's Symphony No. 4 in Kazan; [150] and Orff's Carmina Burana at Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, in Ravenna, [4] and at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome. In 2010 Giordano appeared as a guest artist in Roberto Alagna's concert at Arènes de Bayonne  [ fr ] dedicated to Luis Mariano. [152] In 2014 she took part in the TV show Il meglio d'Italia  [ it ] hosted on Rai 1 by Enrico Brignano, performing excerpts from Rigoletto and La traviata, [153] and also made an appearance in the show Si può fare!  [ it ] as a vocal coach of Karin Proia. In his later years he sang character roles and began a career as a singing teacher. He retired from the stage in 2004.

Maria Cecilia Fusco was an Italian operatic soprano and voice teacher. In a long career, she appeared regularly at La Scala in Milan, and leading opera houses in Italy and abroad. Her broad repertoire included works from early Italian opera to premieres of contemporary opera.

Claudio Desdèri was an Italian baritone and conductor.

Gianluca Martinenghi is an Italian opera and symphonic music conductor. From 2016 to 2018 he was the Music director of Macedonian National Theatre. Currently he is the Artistic Secretary of Teatro Reggio in Turin, Italy,
