Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, sometimes credited as Leslie Carrara, is an American actress and puppeteer. She is best known as a Muppet performer on Sesame Street originating the character Abby Cadabby, for which she has received seven Emmy Award nominations.

Career

Carrara-Rudolph began performing with the Muppets in 1996 on the ABC series Muppets Tonight , on which she performed Spamela Hamderson and Darci. [1] Since 1996, Carrara-Rudolph has been a performer on Sesame Street . She originated the role of Abby Cadabby in 2006 and has performed various additional characters. [2] Since 2009, she has received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series. [3] [4]

In 2004, Carrara-Rudolph puppeteered Blue during the first season of the Nick Jr. series Blue's Room . From 2005 to 2008, Carrara-Rudolph performed Ginger in the Playhouse Disney series Johnny and the Sprites . [5] She is one of the founding members of The Jim Henson Company improv group Puppet Up!.

In addition the puppetry, Carrara-Rudolph has provided voiceover for various animated series and video games. From 2010 to 2015, Carrara-Rudolph voiced Peg Puppy in the Nickelodeon animated series T.U.F.F. Puppy . From 2016 to 2018, she voiced Bubbles on Splash and Bubbles . In 2022, she reprised her role as Abby in the Sesame Street animated series Mecha Builders .

In 2023, Carrara-Rudolph performed Penny Waxman in the Disney+ series The Muppets Mayhem . [4]

Personal life

Carrara-Rudolph is married to Paul Rudolph, a music composer for Sesame Street. [6]

Abby Cadabby, is a Muppet character on the PBS/HBO children's television show Sesame Street, performed by Leslie Carrara-Rudolph. On August 14, 2006, Abby made her debut in the first episode of Sesame Street’s 37th season, when she moved into the neighborhood and met some of the Street's residents. On the day of her debut, her wand broke; Big Bird told her to take her wand to the Fix-It Shop where Maria would fix it. Season 40 features her CGI animated recurring segments titled Abby's Flying Fairy School which was adapted into a proper spin-off. She is also currently the host of another spin-off Abby's Amazing Adventures, with her stepbrother Rudy, which debuted in 2018.

Michael Earl was an American puppeteer. A four-time Emmy Award-winner whose credits include Mr. Snuffleupagus on Sesame Street (1978–1981) and Dr. Ticktock in Ticktock Minutes, a musical series of PSA's on PBS he also co-created, scripted and wrote lyrics for that garnered 11 Southern Regional Emmys, a 1998 National Emmy for Best Public Service Announcements, a Gabriel Award, two Parents' Choice Awards and numerous other honors. Earl performed the original Shrek character in a motion-capture development test film for DreamWorks and puppeteered lead characters in Paramount Pictures' Team America: World Police.

Panwapa is an American children's television series. It is co-produced by the Merrill Lynch Foundation and Sesame Workshop, the latter of which supplied the cast of puppets. The series was first released online via iTunes in 2007 and later premiered on PBS Kids Sprout in January 2008.

Elmo's Christmas Countdown is a 2007 television Christmas special, featuring the characters from Sesame Street. It was first aired on December 23, 2007, on ABC and starred Ben Stiller.

Alice Dinnean is an American puppeteer, writer and voice actress who works at The Jim Henson Company. <i>Sesame Streets 50th Anniversary Celebration</i> 2019 TV Special

Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration is a 2019 musical television special to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sesame Street. Hosted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the special aired on November 9, 2019, on HBO, followed by a November 17 airing on PBS. It stars the cast and Muppets of Sesame Street, including Kermit the Frog, from the past and present. Many retired cast members and characters reunited on the street for the first time in years since their last appearances. This is the final Sesame Street special to feature long-time Muppet performer Caroll Spinney, who performed Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch for 50 years as well as the cast members Emilio Delgado and Bob McGrath, who played Luis and Bob, respectively, for 45 years.

<i>Mecha Builders</i> Animated childrens television series

Mecha Builders is an American animated children's television series and a spin-off of Sesame Street that began production in May 2020. The series is produced by Sesame Workshop and animated by Guru Studio.

When You Wish Upon A Pickle: A Sesame Street Special is a 48-minute Sesame Street HBO television special with special guest stars Blake Lively and Amanda Seyfried. The special was a co-production with Shout Factory and Sesame Workshop. The special received a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Children's Program at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards and was also nominated for Best Voice-Over for Eric Jacobson for his performances as Bert, Grover, and Oscar The Grouch.
