The discography of the Muppets, an American puppet ensemble group originally created by Jim Henson, includes of sixteen studio albums, four compilation albums, one extended play, eight singles, two "featured artist" singles and five music videos. Of the studio and compilation albums, three are soundtracks from seasons of The Muppet Show and seven of eight motion pictures. The soundtrack to the sixth film, Muppets from Space was orchestral as opposed to derivative compositions performed by the characters. Walt Disney Records has served as the primary record label for musical projects by the Muppets since 2004, and has also reissued earlier albums.

Contents

The Muppets are also known for numerous songs from their films and television series, some of which, including "Rainbow Connection", "Bein' Green", "The Muppet Show Theme", "Man or Muppet", and their rendition of "Mah Nà Mah Nà", have become acclaimed and a prevalent part of contemporary pop culture, with several adaptations from other artists of varying genres. Not all discography has been performed by the group as an ensemble cast; some characters such as Kermit the Frog, Rowlf the Dog, and Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, have gone on to perform solo compositions.

"Mah Nà Mah Nà" is a popular song by Italian composer Piero Umiliani. It originally appeared in the Italian film Sweden: Heaven and Hell. It was a minor radio hit in the United States and in Britain, but became better known internationally for its use by The Muppets and on The Benny Hill Show.

The Muppets Take Manhattan is a 1984 American musical comedy-drama film directed by Frank Oz and the third theatrical film featuring the Muppets. The film stars Muppet performers Jim Henson, Oz, Dave Goelz, Steve Whitmire, Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, as well as special appearances by Art Carney, James Coco, Dabney Coleman, Gregory Hines, Linda Lavin, Liza Minnelli, Joan Rivers, and Brooke Shields. Filmed in New York City during the prior summer, it was released theatrically on July 13, 1984, by TriStar Pictures. A fantasy sequence in the film introduced the Muppet Babies, toddler versions of the lead Muppet characters.

Kermit Unpigged is a comedy album released by The Jim Henson Company through BMG Kidz in 1994, and the last album released by Jim Henson Records. The record's title is a parody of the MTV series MTV Unplugged, and the cover is a parody of Eric Clapton's Unplugged album cover as well. The album consists of Kermit the Frog and the other Muppets getting lost at a recording studio and encountering celebrities including Linda Ronstadt, with whom Kermit sings "All I Have to Do Is Dream", Vince Gill who sings "Daydream" with Kermit, Jimmy Buffett who sings "Mr. Spaceman" with Gonzo, and Ozzy Osbourne with whom Miss Piggy sings "Born to Be Wild". The album ends with the Muppets meeting back up and singing the Beatles song "All Together Now". Comedian Lily Tomlin also makes appearances as her character Ernestine.

Diversified in the genres of hip hop, alternative, and soul music, he began his career as a part of the Atlanta-based hip hop group Goodie Mob, which itself was a part of the collective Dungeon Family. His solo career was embarked upon in 2002 with the album Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections. The album and its follow ups would feature an retro-infused funk panache executed with soulful delivery. This would be most exemplified in his third solo effort: The Lady Killer (2010).

Muppets: The Green Album is a cover album of twelve songs originally from the Muppets, covered by alternative rock and pop artists. The album was released by Walt Disney Records on August 23, 2011, on a digipak CD and as a digital download. A music video was also produced for the album's sole single; "Muppet Show Theme Song", featuring OK Go attempting to produce their own music video until they are interrupted by the Muppets' antics.

The album consisted of the Muppets having an all-day beach party and performing popular songs, mostly from the 1960s. It was released in CD and cassette form, with the latter including a poster with lyrics on the opposite side.

It also features the song "Man or Muppet", which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Cee Lo's Magic Moment is the first Christmas studio album and overall fourth studio album released by American recording artist Cee Lo Green on October 29, 2012, in the United Kingdom. It was released to the US on October 30 by Elektra Records. Green's versions of "Mary, Did You Know?" and "What Christmas Means to Me" peaked at numbers 22 and 23 on the December 22, 2012 R&B Songs chart in the United States. The album has sold 181,000 copies in the United States in 2012. It is Cee Lo Green's first solo album to not contain a Parental Advisory label.

Originally released on LP by Atlantic Records in North America and by CBS internationally, the album reached No. 32 on the Billboard 200, and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. The soundtrack won the Grammy Award for Best Children's Album in 1980 and was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, the Golden Globe for Best Original Song, and two Academy Awards; Best Adaptation Score for the overall album and Best Original Song for "Rainbow Connection", which reached No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.
