Lindy Brigitte Leveaux-Agricole (born 14 November 1978 in Victoria, Seychelles) is a Seychellois javelin thrower. Her personal best throw is 57.86 metres, achieved in June 2005 in Victoria. This is the national record. She also holds national records in the shot put and discus throw.[ citation needed ]

Lyndall Dale McDaniel, known as Lindy McDaniel, was an American professional baseball pitcher who had a 21-year career in Major League Baseball from 1955 to 1975. During his career, he witnessed approximately 3,500 major league games, had more than 300 teammates, and played under eight different managers. He attended the University of Oklahoma and Abilene Christian College, then played with the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and San Francisco Giants, and the New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals. He stood 6’3” and was listed at 195 lb. (88kg). McDaniel was a minister for the Church of Christ.

The Seychelles was represented at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne by a 32-member strong contingent comprising 22 sportspersons and 10 officials. The 2006 event was the fifth time the nation has entered the Commonwealth Games, previously having won three medals – two silver and one bronze. The Seychelles team competed in seven of the 16 sporting disciplines at the Games, including athletics, boxing, weightlifting, badminton, table tennis, swimming and cycling. Reigning Seychelles Sportslady of the Year, javelin specialist Lindy Leveau-Agricole was chosen to be the team's flag bearer during the opening ceremony.

Scott Martin is an Australian shot putter and discus throw competitor. He rose to prominence in a National Australia Bank advertisement promoting the 2006 Commonwealth Games; in the ad, Martin was shown taking part in a ballet class to improve his discus technique. He won a bronze medal in the men's shot put at the Games, and won gold in the men's discus throw.

Clément Lefert is a retired French Olympic champion in swimming. He won a gold medal at the London 2012 Summer Olympics in the 4 × 100 meters freestyle relay, with teammates Amaury Leveaux, Fabien Gilot, and Yannick Agnel, besting the American relay team that included Michael Phelps. He also won a silver medal in the 4 x 200 meters freestyle relay. Lefert is an economics major at the University of Southern California (USC), and holds USC's record in the 200 yard freestyle (1:33.67).

The 1929–30 Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team represented the University of Alabama in intercollegiate basketball during the 1929–30 season. The team finished the season with a 20–0 record and was retroactively named the national champion by the Premo-Porretta Power Poll. The team was led by Lindy Hood.

It is one of four regional championships organised by the CAA, alongside the North, East and West African Athletics Championships.
