Urban rail transit in China encompasses a broad range of urban and suburban electric passenger rail mass transit systems including subway, light rail, tram and maglev. Some classifications also include non-rail bus rapid transport. As of 31 December 2022, China has the world's longest urban rail transit system with more than 9,500 km (5,900 mi) of urban rail nationwide in 49 systems in 47 cities, accounting for 9 of the 10 longest metro systems except Moscow Metro, or metro systems in Seoul combined if metro systems in the same cities are merged in the rank.
Line 11 is a northwest–southeast line of the Shanghai Metro network. Since October 2013, Line 11 serves Kunshan city, making it is the second intercity metro in China after the Guangfo Metro and the first that crosses a provincial boundary. With a single-line mileage of 82.386 kilometres (51.192 mi), it is the second-longest single-line subway line in China, after Line 6 in Chongqing, which is 85.6 km (53.2 mi) long. The line is colored brown on system maps.
Line 9 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in western Beijing. The line runs 16.5 km (10.3 mi) from the National Library in Haidian District to Guogongzhuang in Fengtai District with 13 stations. All stations are fully underground. Line 9's color is chartreuse.
Line 7 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in Beijing. It runs parallel and to the south of Line 1 and Batong line, from the Beijing West railway station in Fengtai District to Universal Resort in Tongzhou District. Like Line 6, Line 7 provides additional relief to the overcapacity Line 1 adding another east–west trunk line to the Beijing Subway network. The line uses 8-car Type B trains.
Line 8 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in Beijing. It sits on the central axis of Beijing. Line 8's color is green. It is 49.5 km (30.8 mi) in length with 35 stations. The most recent extension is the central section from National Art Museum to Zhushikou, opened on 31 December 2021.
Line 6 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in Beijing. The line runs from Jin'anqiao in Shijingshan District to Lucheng in Tongzhou District. It serves important residential areas such as Changying, Chaoqing, and Dingfuzhuang, in addition to important commercial and business areas such as Financial Street, Beijing CBD and the sub-administrative center in Tongzhou District. Like Line 7, Line 6 provides relief to the parallel Line 1, which is the second most used subway line in Beijing, after Line 10. Line 6 is the second longest subway line in Beijing. A complete journey from end to end takes about an hour and 25 minutes on a local train and express trains reducing end to end travel time by 7 minutes.
The Fangshan Line of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in western Beijing that runs from Yancundong in Fangshan District north and east to Dongguantounan in Fengtai District. The line is 31.8 km (19.8 mi). It is mainly elevated, including 10 elevated stations and 6 underground stations. It allows residents of Beijing's western suburbs to connect to the rest of the Beijing Subway network.
The Changping Line of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in northern Beijing. It is 43.2 km (26.8 mi) in length with 20 stations. It is colored pink in system maps.
Line 16 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in Beijing. Currently, the line is 45.7 km (28.4 mi) in length, with 26 stations. It will be 49.8 km (30.9 mi), with 30 stations when fully completed. The line is fully underground.
Line 17 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line that is partially in operation in Beijing. The line is fully underground and has a total length of 49.7 km (30.9 mi). It is scheduled to open in parts between 2021 and 2024. The line is operated by Beijing MTR Corporation Limited.
Line 19 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line in Beijing. It is 20.9 km (13.0 mi) in length and has 10 stations. It is fully underground.
Line 11 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line of the Beijing Subway. The line opened on December 31, 2021.
Caoqiao station is a station on Line 10, Line 19 and Daxing Airport Express of the Beijing Subway.
Jingfengmen station is a station on Lines 14 and 19 of the Beijing Subway in Fengtai District.
Dongguantounan station is an interchange station on Line 16 and Fangshan line of the Beijing Subway.
Yizhuang T1 Line is a 13.255 km (8.2 mi) tram line with 15 stations. It is part of Beijing Subway system. It runs from Quzhuang station in Daxing District to Dinghaiyuan station in Tongzhou District. The line opened on December 31, 2020. Laoguanli station will open in 2024.
Qinghe Xiaoyingqiao station is a subway station on the Changping line of the Beijing Subway. It opened on 4 February 2023. The station is reserved for a potential cross-platform transfer with Line 19 in the future.
Xuezhiyuan station is a subway station on the Changping line of the Beijing Subway. It opened on 4 February 2023.
