LGBT History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. It was founded in 1994 by Missouri high-school history teacher Rodney Wilson. LGBT History Month provides role models, builds community, and represents a civil rights statement about the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. As of 2022, LGBT History Month is a month-long celebration that is specific to Australia, Canada, Cuba, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Holger Bernhard Bruno Mischwitzky, known professionally as Rosa von Praunheim, is a German film director, author, producer, professor of directing and one of the most influential and famous queer activists in the German-speaking world. A pioneer of Queer Cinema and gay activist from the very beginning, von Praunheim was a key co-founder of the modern lesbian and gay movement in West Germany and Switzerland. He was an early advocate of AIDS awareness and safer sex. His films center on queer-related themes and strong female characters, are characterized by excess and employ a campy style. They have featured such personalities as Keith Haring, Larry Kramer, Diamanda Galás, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Judith Malina, Jeff Stryker, Jayne County, Divine, Charlotte von Mahlsdorf and a row of Warhol superstars. In over 50 years, von Praunheim has made more than 150 films. His works influenced the development of LGBTQ+ movements worldwide.

<i>Hold You Tight</i> (film) 1998 Hong Kong film

Hold You Tight is a 1998 Hong Kong romantic drama film directed by Stanley Kwan. The film features full-frontal male nudity.

Bizarre is a 2015 French drama film directed by Etienne Faure and starring Rebekah Underhill. It was screened in the Panorama section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival. In June and August 2015, Bizarre was screened at The Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival 2015.

<i>Young Hearts</i> (2024 film) 2024 coming-of-age film

Young Hearts is a 2024 coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Anthony Schatteman in his feature directorial debut. The film tells the story of 14-year-old boy Elias, who falls in love with his new neighbour boy Alexander of the same age.

Night Stage is an upcoming Brazilian erotic thriller film directed by Marcio Reolon and Filipe Matzembacher. The film follows an actor and a politician, who start a secret affair and together discover their fetish for having sex in public places. The film selected in Panorama 2025 will have its premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2025.
