Gymnastics events have been staged at the Olympic Games since 1896, with women competing for the time at the 1928 Olympic Games. [1] At the 2020 Olympic Games Yeo Seo-jeong became the first South Korean female artistic gymnast to win a medal. [2]

South Korea competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, from 13 to 29 August 2004. This was the nation's fourteenth appearance at the Olympics, except the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of its support for the United States boycott. The Korean Olympic Committee sent the nation's smallest delegation to the Games since 1992. A total of 264 athletes, 145 men and 119 women, competed in 25 sports.

The South Korea men's national volleyball team represents South Korea in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Korea Volleyball Association. The Republic of Korea (ROK) has competed in the Olympic Games eight times, but has not featured since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The national team's best performance at the Olympic Games was 5th place at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles, California, United States. The national team at the FIVB World Championship competed nine times, with their best result at 4th place in 1978. On continental level, The national team won three gold medals at the Asian Games in 1978, 2002 and 2006. And at the Asian Championship, the national team won four gold medals, two of these was at home in 1989 Seoul and 2001 Changwon and the other two are in 1993 and 2003. The national team now ranks 32nd in the FIVB World Rankings and their current head coach is Im Do-heon.
South Korea participated in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar on 1–15 December 2006. South Korea ranked 2nd with 58 gold medals in this edition of the Asiad.

Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina is a Mexican former artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 World bronze medalist on vault, the first Mexican female gymnast to medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She represented Mexico at the 2016 Summer Olympics where she was the second reserve for the all-around final and at the 2020 Olympics where she placed fourth in the vault final. She won a silver medal on vault at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and a bronze medal on vault at the 2010 Pacific Rim Championships. She is also a five-time medalist on the FIG World Cup circuit. She is the 2011 Pan American Games and 2014 and 2018 Pan American Championships team bronze medalist and the 2010 and 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games team gold medalist.
South Korea participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. It was the 18th appearance of the country at the Asian Games, except the first edition in Delhi. As one of the best competitors at the Games, South Korea's best achievement was in the 2002 Busan, with the acquisition of 96 gold, 80 silver and 84 bronze medals. At the latest edition in 2014 Incheon, the country had collected 79 gold, 71 silver, and 84 bronze medals.
South Korea competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The women's vault event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on 25 July and 1 August 2021 at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Unlike other the other apparatus events, vault requires gymnasts to perform two exercises in order for results to count towards the vault final; most of the gymnasts perform only one or none. Approximately 20 gymnasts from 15 nations competed two vaults in the qualifying round.
Yeo Seo-jeong is a South Korean artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic bronze medalist, the 2018 Asian Games champion, and 2022 Asian champion on vault. She is the first South Korean female gymnast to win an Olympic medal.
Lee Yun-seo is a South Korean artistic gymnast. She competed at the 2019 and 2021 World Championships, and she represented South Korea at the 2020 Summer Olympics and at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
Julie Dicko Erichsen is a Norwegian artistic gymnast. She competed at the 2020 Olympic Games and the 2019 World Championships. She was the first Norwegian female gymnast to qualify for the Olympic Games since 1992.
Gabriela Weronika Janik is a Polish artistic gymnast. She competed at the 2020 Olympic Games and the 2019 World Championships.

The series depicts the lies, secret, mystery, suspense and hypocrisy hidden behind the perfect lives of South Korea's top 0.1% women. It premiered on tvN on September 6, 2021, and aired every Monday and Tuesday at 22:30 (KST) till November 1. The series is available on IQIYI for streaming in selected locations.
Hanna Aliaksandrauna Traukova is a Belarusian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2020 Olympic Games.
Shin Sol-yi is a South Korean artistic gymnast. She is the 2021 South Korean national champion. She finished eleventh in the all-around at the 2021 World Championships, the highest-ever placement for a South Korean female gymnast. On the junior level, Shin is the 2017 Asian Junior Championships vault silver medalist.
Miyata Shoko is a Japanese artistic gymnast. She is the 2022 World bronze medalist on the balance beam as well as the 2022 Asian Championships silver medalist on vault and floor exercise. She represented Japan at the inaugural Junior World Championships.
