Gymnastics events have been staged at the Olympic Games since 1896. [1] Brazilian female artistic gymnasts have participated in every Summer Olympics since 1980, except for 1996, when Soraya Carvalho qualified but had to withdraw before the start of the competition due to an ankle injury. [2] A total of 17 female gymnasts have represented Brazil. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Rebeca Andrade won gold in the vault and silver in the individual all-around. [3]

Flávia Lopes Saraiva is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She represented Brazil at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris where she won a bronze medal as part of the Brazilian team. She was also part of the teams that won silver at the 2023 World Championships, gold at the 2018 South American Games and bronze at the 2015 and 2019 Pan American Games. Individually she is the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic floor exercise champion, the 2023 World Championships floor exercise bronze medalist and is a multi-medalist at the Pan American Games, South American Games, and Pan American Championships.

Lorrane dos Santos Oliveira is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the Brazilian team that won a historic silver medal at the 2023 World Championships. She also won team bronze medals at the 2015 and 2019 Pan American Games. Individually, she is the 2021 Pan American uneven bars champion and all-around bronze medalist. She represented Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics and is currently competing at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Brazil competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's twenty-third appearance at the Summer Olympics, having competed in all editions of the modern era from 1920 onwards, except the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam.

The women's artistic individual all-around event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo was held at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre on 29 July 2021. Approximately 80 gymnasts from 49 nations competed in the all-around in the qualifying round.

The women's vault event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on 25 July and 1 August 2021 at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Unlike the other apparatus events, vault requires gymnasts to perform two exercises in order for results to count towards the vault final; most of the gymnasts perform only one or none. Approximately 20 gymnasts from 15 nations competed two vaults in the qualifying round.

Yeo Seo-jeong is a South Korean artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic bronze medalist, the 2023 World bronze medalist, the 2018 Asian Games champion, and the 2022 Asian champion on vault. She is the first South Korean female gymnast to win an Olympic medal and also the first to win a World Championships medal.

Luciana Alvarado Reid is a Costa Rican artistic gymnast who represented her country at the 2019 World Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games. She took the silver medal in the all-around at the 2021 Pan American Championships, earning a continental berth for the 2020 Summer Olympics, and also became the Pan American champion on the balance beam. She is the first Costa Rican gymnast to qualify for the Olympics.

Júlia das Neves Botega Soares is a Brazilian artistic gymnast and a member of the Brazilian national gymnastics team. Soares represented her country at the 2019 Junior World Championships, where she was a finalist on the balance beam. She made her international senior debut at the 2021 Pan American Championships where she helped Brazil win the team gold, and also took an individual bronze medal on the balance beam. She debuted a new skill, a candle mount with a half twist on the balance beam, which was named after her in the Code of Points. She was part of the silver medal-winning Brazilian team at the 2023 World Championships.

Brazil competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024. Brazilian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games from 1920 onwards, except for Amsterdam 1928.
