Cricket is a sport that generates a variety of statistics.
In cricket, a scorer is someone appointed to record all runs scored, all wickets taken and, where appropriate, the number of overs bowled. In professional games, in compliance with Law 3 of the Laws of Cricket, two scorers are appointed, most often one provided by each team.
Richard Pollard was an English cricketer born in Westhoughton, Lancashire, who played in four Test matches between 1946 and 1948. A fast-medium right-arm bowler and a lower-order right-handed batsman who made useful runs on occasion, he played for Lancashire between 1933 and 1950, taking 1,122 wickets in 298 first-class matches; he is 10th highest wicket-taker for Lancashire.
Graham Richard Napier is an English former cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler, and was capable of bowling 90+mph. Napier played first-class cricket for his home county of Essex since the outset of his senior career in 1997. Between 1997 and 1999 Napier played in four Youth Test matches in England against Zimbabwe, South Africa (twice) and Australia's respective under-19 teams. He was also a member of the 1998 Under-19 Cricket World Cup winning squad. Napier was on the books of Ipswich Town as a goalkeeper and played for a season on loan at Felixstowe Town. He retired at the end of the 2016 season.
Queen's Park is a county cricket ground located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England and lies within a park in the centre of the town established for Queen Victoria's golden jubilee in 1887. It has a small pavilion and is surrounded by mature trees.
Sir Derrick Thomas Louis Bailey, 3rd Baronet, DFC was the son of the South African entrepreneur Sir Abe Bailey and of the pioneer aviator Dame Mary Bailey, and won fame for himself as a decorated Second World War pilot, a cricketer and a businessman. Inheriting his father's baronetcy in 1946 from his elder half-brother, he was known for the last 63 years of his life as Sir Derrick Bailey.
James Geoffrey Lomax played first-class cricket as a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler for Lancashire and Somerset between 1949 and 1962. He was born at Rochdale, then in Lancashire, and died at Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol.
Gerald Lester was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Leicestershire. He was born at Long Whatton, Leicestershire and died at Leicester.
Reginald Trevor Crawford was an English cricketer who played as a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler in first-class cricket between 1901 and 1911. He played mainly for Leicestershire from 1901 to 1907, returning for a single match in both 1910 and 1911, and also played for amateur teams. He was born in Leicester and died at Swiss Cottage, London. He was the brother of the England Test cricketer Jack Crawford and of the Surrey and Leicestershire first-class cricketer Vivian Crawford.
William Seeds Patterson was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Cambridge University, Lancashire and various amateur teams between 1874 and 1882. He was born at Mossley Hill, Liverpool and died at Hook Heath, Woking, Surrey.
Edwin James Diver was an English first-class cricketer who played for Surrey and Warwickshire between 1883 and 1901. He was born in Cambridge and died at Pontardawe, Glamorgan, Wales.
