The following lists the Turkic Council Heads of States Summits organized between 2011 and 2021. Prior to 2011, Turkic Speaking States summits were held between 1992 and 2010. Organization of Turkic States Summits are held since 2022.
First Turkic Council summit was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on October 21, 2011. The theme was "Cooperation in Economic Area and Trade Area". [1] Foundation of Turkic Business Council has been signed in the summit. [2]
Second Turkic Council summit was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on August 23, 2012. The theme was "Cooperation in Education, Science and Culture". Foundation of Turkic Academy and Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation were signed during the summit. [3] The official flag of the council has been approved. [4]
Third Turkic Council summit was held in Qabala, Azerbaijan on August 16, 2013. The theme was "Cooperation in Transportation". [5] [6]
Fourth Turkic Council summit was held in Bodrum, Turkey on June 5, 2014. The theme was "Cooperation in Tourism". [7] [8]
Fifth Turkic Council summit was held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on September 11, 2015. The theme was "Cooperation in Media and Information". [9] [10]

Sixth Turkic Council summit was held in Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan on September 2, 2018. The theme was "Youths and National Sports". Hungary joined the organization as an observer. [11] [12]

Seventh Turkic Council summit was held in Baku, Azerbaijan on October 15, 2019. The theme was "Supporting the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)". Uzbekistan joined the organization as a full member. Baku Declaration is announced at the end of the summit. [13] [14] First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is awarded with "Supreme Order of Turkic World". [15]
An extraordinary video summit was held on 10 April 2020 for COVID-19 pandemic. The theme was "Cooperation and solidarity in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic". [16] [17]
An informal video summit was held on 31 March 2021. The theme was "Turkistan – A Spiritual Capital of the Turkic World". [18] Turkistan is declared to be spiritual capital of Turkic World. [19]

Eighth (last) Turkic Council summit was held in Istanbul, Turkey on November 12, 2021. The theme was "Green Technologies and Smart Cities in the Digital Age". During the summit, leaders agreed to change organization's name to "Organization of Turkic States". Turkmenistan joined the organization as an observer. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is awarded with "Supreme Order of Turkic World". Istanbul Declaration is announced at the end of the summit. [20] [21]

Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev is an Uzbek politician who has served as President of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan since 14 December 2016. Previously, Mirziyoyev led the government as a Prime Minister of Uzbekistan from 2003 to 2016.
The Economic Cooperation Organization or ECO is a Eurasian political and economic intergovernmental organization that was founded in 1985 in Tehran by the leaders of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey. It provides a platform to discuss ways to improve development and promote trade and investment opportunities. The ECO is an ad hoc organisation under the United Nations Charter. The objective is to establish a single market for goods and services, much like the European Union. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the ECO expanded to include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in 1992.
The Central Asian Union (CAU), later called the Central Asian Economic Union (CAEU), was an intergovernmental organization for economic integration between the Central Asian post-Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan between 1994 and 2004. Tajikistan joined the Union in 1996 as an observer. Several proposals to restore the Union have been put forward since its dissolution.

The Turkic Academy, previously known as Turkic World Educational and Scientific Cooperation Organization, or International Turkic Academy is an international institute for Turkology research involving Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Hungary and Uzbekistan have observer status.
The Order of the Golden Eagle or "Altyn Qyran" Order is the highest order of Kazakhstan. The order is awarded by the President of Kazakhstan. Established in 1995, the order recognizes outstanding service to Kazakhstan. The Order of the Golden Eagle may be awarded to individuals who have previously been awarded orders by Kazakhstan or the Soviet Union. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan becomes a Commander special class of the Order of Altyn Kyran.
The 2012 ECO summit was the twelfth Economic Cooperation Organization summit, held on 16 October 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Relations between Turkic Council and Azerbaijan started from the year of 2009 until present. Taking into account of the establishment date of the organization, Azerbaijan continues relations as a member of the founding country.
The 2018 World Nomad Games is the 3rd international sports competition organized in ethnic sports. It was held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan from 2–8 September 2018 with 37 sports being featured in the games. Featured sports included eagle hunting, bone throwing and kok-boru. The opening ceremony was attended by President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was announced during the festival that Kyrgyzstan would not be hosting the games in 2020, saying that Turkey would be hosting the games that year.
The Presidency ofShavkat Mirziyoyev refers to the tenure of Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the 2nd President of Uzbekistan. His term began on 14 December 2016, after serving as prime minister and acting president following the death of his predecessor, Islam Karimov. In accordance with the Constitution of Uzbekistan, his mandate will last until 2030, following his re-election in 2023.
