Rockstar is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language musical romantic drama film directed by Imtiaz Ali, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri, with music composed by A. R. Rahman. The film also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Shernaz Patel and Kumud Mishra in supporting roles, and also Shammi Kapoor, who makes his last silver screen appearance. The film was produced by Eros International Ltd. along with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. It follows Janardhan Jakhar a.k.a. JJ or Jordan, who dreams of becoming a rockstar like his role model, Jim Morrison. Yet, eventually on attaining all that he dreamt of, Jordan ends up anguished and despondent, by the loss of Heer Kaul, whom he loved passionately and whose death is inadvertently caused by Jordan himself.
Produced on a budget of ₹600 million, [1] Rockstar was released on 11 November 2011 and grossed ₹1.08 billion. [2] The film albums was included in "Top Ten Best Hindi Film Albums of the Decade" by the Firstpost and the Film Companion. [3] [4] The film garnered awards and nominations in several categories, with particular praise for its direction, screenplay, Kapoor's performance, Rahman's music, cinematography, and editing. The film won 47 awards from 97 nominations.

Vishal–Shekhar are an Indian music composition, production, singing, and songwriting duo consisting of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani from Mumbai. Known predominantly for their work as music composers in Hindi cinema, Vishal–Shekhar have also recorded in Telugu, Tamil and Marathi with the likes of Akon, The Vamps, Imogen Heap, Diplo. They have been streamed over 3 billion times on YouTube, have had 72 number-one singles, and have been featured on over 350 film sound tracks. They are one of the most successful music composers in the history of Bollywood music.
Harshdeep Kaur is an Indian playback singer known for her Bollywood Hindi, Punjabi,English and Sufi songs. She is popularly known as "Sufi Ki Sultana" because of her soulful Sufi renditions. After winning titles in two reality shows, Kaur established herself as a lead singer in Bollywood soundtracks. Kaur was sixteen years old when she released her first Bollywood song, "Sajna Mai Haari".

"Teri Meri" is an Indian Hindi-language song from the (2011) Bollywood film Bodyguard directed by Siddique, starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The song was sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal. The song was composed by Himesh Reshammiya, while its lyrics were penned by Shabbir Ahmed. The song along with the other tracks was released on 27 July 2011.

Barfi! is the soundtrack album for the 2012 Hindi film of the same name. The music and original score is composed by Pritam and featured lyrics written by Swanand Kirkire, Ashish Pandit, Neelesh Misra and Sayeed Quadri. The film is directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur under UTV Motion Pictures, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Ileana D'Cruz in the lead roles. The film marks Pritam's third collaboration with Basu after Gangster (2006) and Life in a... Metro (2007). The album was under-development, when the film was in post-production stage and was completed only by early-August 2012. All the tracks in the film expresses the feelings of Kapoor's character.
