Martin Hermannsson is an Icelandic professional basketball player for Alba Berlin of the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and the EuroLeague. He also internationally represents the Icelandic national basketball team, with which he participated in the EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017. In 2019, Martin was named the Icelandic Men's Basketball Player of the Year for the fourth year in a row.

Bryndís Guðmundsdóttir is an Icelandic former basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic women's national basketball team. Over her 15 year career, she won the Icelandic championship six times and the Icelandic Basketball Cup four times.

The 2019–20 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 69th season of the Úrvalsdeild karla, the top tier men's basketball league in Iceland. The season started on 3 October 2019. On 13 March 2020, with each team having one game left, the season was postponed for at least four weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic in the country. On 18 March, the rest of the season was canceled. Fjölnir was relegated and Stjarnan was named divisional champions for having the best record at the time of the cancelation but no national champions would be named for the season.

Davíð Arnar Ágústsson is an Icelandic basketball player who plays for Úrvalsdeild karla club Þór Þorlákshöfn. Nicknamed Dabbi Kóngur, he helped Þór Þorlákshöfn win its first ever national championship in 2021.

Björn Thors is an Icelandic actor. He is known for his role as Kenneth Máni in Fangavaktin, Hugo Estevez in Sjáumst með Silvíu Nótt and Darri in Katla.

<i>Blackport</i> Icelandic television series

Blackport is an Icelandic television drama miniseries, written by Gísli Örn Garðarsson, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Mikael Torfason and produced by Vesturport in association with RÚV. The first episode of the eight part series premiered on the RÚV on 26 December 2021.

The 2022–23 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 72nd season of the Úrvalsdeild karla, the top tier men's basketball league in Iceland. The season started on 6 October 2022 and ended on 18 May 2023. Tindastóll won its third title, and its first in 39 years, by defeating Valur 3–2 in the Finals.

<i>TF-SIF</i> (Dash 8) Surveillance and rescue aircraft operated by the Icelandic Coast Guard

Sif, also known as TF-SIF, is a Bombardier Dash 8-Q-314 turboprop-powered surveillance and rescue aircraft operated by the Icelandic Coast Guard since 2009. It is named after Sif, the golden-haired goddess from Norse mythology and is the fourth Coast Guard aircraft to bear the name.
