<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kogi State</span> State of Nigeria

Kogi State is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria, bordered to the west by the states of Ekiti and Kwara, to the north by the Federal Capital Territory, to the northeast by Nasarawa State, to the northwest by Niger State, to the southwest by the Edo and Ondo states, to the southeast by the states of Anambra and Enugu, and to the east by Benue State. It is the only state in Nigeria to border ten other states. Named after the Hausa word for river (Kogi). Kogi State was formed from parts of Benue State, Niger State, and Kwara State on 27 August 1991. The state is nicknamed the "Confluence State" due to the fact that the confluence of the River Niger and the River Benue occurs next to its capital, Lokoja.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ondo State</span> State of Nigeria

Ondo State is a state in southwestern Nigeria. It was created on 3 February 1976 from the former Western State. Ondo borders Ekiti State to the north, Kogi State to the northeast for 45 km, Edo State to the east, Delta State to the southeast for 36 km, Ogun State to the southwest for 179 km, Osun State to the northwest for 77 km, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. The state's capital is Akure, the former capital of the ancient Akure Kingdom. The State includes mangrove-swamp forest near the Bights of Benin.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Delta State</span> State in southern Nigeria

Delta State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Named after the Niger Delta—a large part of which is in the state—the state was formed from the former Bendel State, on 27 August 1991. Bordered on the north by Edo State, the east by Anambra and Rivers states, and that south by Bayelsa State while to the west is the Bight of Benin which covers about 160 kilometres of the state's coastline. The state was initially created with 12 local government areas in 1991, but was later expanded to 19 and now has 25 local government areas. Its capital city is Asaba which is located along the River Niger on the northeastern end of the state, while the state's economic center is the city of Warri on the southwestern coastline.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kwara State</span> State of Nigeria

Kwara State is a state in Western Nigeria, bordered to the east by Kogi State, to the north by Niger State, and to the south by Ekiti, Osun, and Oyo states, while its western border makes up part of the international border with Benin. Its capital is the city of Ilorin and the state has 16 local government areas.

The Adeyemi Federal University of Education is a federal government higher education institution located in Ondo City, Ondo State, Nigeria. It is affiliated with Obafemi Awolowo University for its degree programmer. Adeyemi College of Education was named after Canon M. C. Adeyemi in recognition of his immense contribution to educational development in the then Ondo Province.

Federal College of Education Abeokuta (FCEA) is a public institution authorized with issuance of National Certificate in Education (NCE) to successful graduated students. It was founded in 1976 at Osiele, Ogun State, south west Nigeria. The current provost is Dr. Rafiu Adekola Soyele. The college runs three programmes: the NCE, a degree in affiliation with University of Ibadan and Lagos State University, and PGDE.

Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo also known as FCE OYO was established on 5 October 1977, as Federal Advanced Teacher's college (Special). The institution, according to a UNDP/UNESCO 1996 report (NIR/87/008) "... Has the best qualify Staff in Special Education not only in Nigeria but in West, North, East and Central Africa." The College is the only one of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. It has the largest conglomeration of disabled students that could be found in any Higher Institution in Nigeria and the largest concentration of specialized facilities for teaching and training of teachers of the Handicapped in Nigeria. During its 40th anniversary celebration, the college gave special recognition award to former President Olusegun Obasanjo whose military administration brought about the upgrading of the Institution from the then Federal Advanced Teachers College to a College of Education with the mandate to award the National Certificate of Education (NCE) in 1977.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Federal College of Education, Kano</span>

Federal College of Education, Kano is a college of art and Sciences based in Kano State. It was established by the Northern Region Government of Nigeria in collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 1965 as Advance Training College Kano.

The 2019 Kwara State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. APC's AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq polled 73.12% of the total votes, ahead of PDP's Razak Atunwa who got 25.31% of votes trailing behind by a margin of 216,792 votes, and several minor party candidates. APC won in all 16 LGAs of the state.

The Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu is a federal government higher education institution located in Eha Amufu, Enugu State, Nigeria. It is affiliated to University of Nigeria for its degree programmes. The current Provost is Pauline Ikwuegbu.

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku is a federal government higher education institution located in Omoku, Rivers State, South-South, Nigeria. It is funded and managed by the Federal government of Nigeria. It is affiliated to University of Nigeria for its degree programmes. The current Provost is Emmanuel Ikenyiri.

The Federal College of Education, Kontagora is a federal government higher education institution located in Kontagora, Niger State, Nigeria. It is affiliated to Ahmadu Bello University for its degree programmes. The current Provost is Faruk Rashid Haruna.

The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Kwara State was held on March 28, 2015, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Kwara State. Mohammed Shaaba Lafiagi representing Kwara North, Bukola Saraki representing Kwara Central and Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim representing Kwara South all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.

The 2011 Nigerian Senate election in Kwara State was held on April 9, 2011, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Kwara State. Mohammed Shaaba Lafiagi representing Kwara North, Bukola Saraki representing Kwara Central and Simon Ajibola representing Kwara South all won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.

The Kwara State College of Education (Technical), Lafiagi is a state government higher education institution located in Lafiagi, Kwara State, Nigeria. The current Provost is Dr. Mohammed Dede Ibrahim .

Ohere Sadiku Abubakar FNSE, is a Nigerian politician and senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District. He hails from Okene LGA in Kogi State. He has served as the Special Adviser overseeing the affairs of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Kogi State from January to August 2019. He has also served as the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, until December 2019, with the same functions of overseeing the affairs of the Ministry. In January 2020, at the inception of the second tenure of Yahaya Bello, he was re-appointed to serve as the Honorable Commissioner for Works and Housing. Abubakar Ohere is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

Federal College of Education, Yola is one of the post secondary institution in Adamawa State. It is located in Jimeta, Yola and the current provost is Dr. Mohammed Usman Degereji.
