This list of electoral wards in Mid Glamorgan includes council wards which elected councillors to Mid Glamorgan County Council during its existence from 1 April 1974 to 1 April 1996.

The first Mid Glamorgan Council elections took place in April 1973. Eighty five county councillors were elected from sixty eight electoral wards. [1] as follows (numbers of councillors in brackets):

19891996

Following The County of Mid Glamorgan (Electoral Arrangements) Order 1988 the number of wards were increased to 74, taking effect from the 1989 elections (and preparatory activity beforehand). [2] Each ward elected one county councillor to Mid Glamorgan Council, totalling 74. [1]

Mid Glamorgan was divided into local government districts (often with borough status), namely Borough of Cynon Valley, [3] Borough of Merthyr Tydfil, [4] Borough of Ogwr, [5] Borough of Rhondda, [6] District of Rhymney Valley [7] and Borough of Taff-Ely. [8] These also had their own elected borough or district council.

Rhydyfelin Human settlement in Wales

Rhydyfelin is a large village and part of the community of Pontypridd Town, about two miles to its south east of Pontypridd, in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf. It is on the eastern bank of the River Taff close to the A470, and historically was in the parish of Eglwysilan.

Graig is a historic district of the town of Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. It is also the name of an electoral ward for the town and county councils.

Laleston Human settlement in Wales

Laleston is a village and a community in Bridgend County Borough, south Wales, directly west of Bridgend town centre. The village takes its name from the Norman Lageles family who settled in the area. Buildings of note in the village include St David's Church, which still possesses features dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries, the Great House which was built in the early 16th century and Horeb Welsh Presbyterian Church (1831).

The community of Llwydcoed, Rhondda Cynon Taf was, for much of the twentieth century, and electoral ward for the purposes of electing members to Glamorgan County Council and the Aberdare Urban District Council. Llwydcoed is no longer an electoral ward but forms part of Aberdare West/Llwydcoed electoral ward for the purposes of Rhondda Cynon Taf unitary authority elections

The first election to the Bridgend County Borough Council was held on 4 May 1995. It was followed by the 1999 election. On the same day there were elections to the other 21 local authorities in Wales and community councils in Wales.

The 1991 Ogwr Borough Council election was held on Thursday 2 May 1991 to Ogwr Borough Council, a district council in Mid Glamorgan, Wales. It took place on the same day as other council elections in Wales and England. These were to be the last elections before re-organization of local government in Wales and dissolution of the council.

Ogwr Borough Council

Ogwr Borough Council was a district local authority for the Borough of Ogwr, in the Bridgend area of Mid Glamorgan, Wales. The council was a second-tier local authority to Mid Glamorgan County Council. Ogwr Borough Council was created in 1974 and dissolved in 1996.

Mountain Ash is an electoral ward in Rhondda Cynon Taf, electing two councillors to Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council. It was re-created by the merger of Mountain Ash East and Mountain Ash West, following a local government boundary review, effective from 5 May 2022, the date of the 2022 Welsh local elections.

Penrhiw-ceibr is the name of an electoral ward in the Cynon Valley, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It's boundaries are coterminous with the village and community of Penrhiwceiber. The ward elects two councillors to Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.
