The following is a list of films shot wholly or partly on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The Gold Coast is a popular location for the filming of Hollywood movies and high-budget Australian movies. The City of the Gold Coast has also emerged as a growing hub for independent feature film production between 2009 and 2019 by content creators living and working in the region. [1]

<i>Ghost Ship</i> (2002 film) 2002 American film

Ghost Ship is a 2002 American supernatural horror film directed by Steve Beck, and starring an ensemble cast featuring Gabriel Byrne, Julianna Margulies, Ron Eldard, Desmond Harrington, Isaiah Washington and Karl Urban. The film follows a marine salvage crew in the Bering Sea who discover a mysterious ocean liner that disappeared in 1962. Despite its title, the film is unrelated to the 1952 film of the same name.

In 2018, BIFF was held at Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), with screenings held across multiple venues.

Kirk Shaw is a Canadian-born producer who founded Insight Film Studios in 1990. From 2006 to 2009 Insight Film Studios was Canada's largest independent production house. Through Insight Shaw has produced more than 100 often award-winning films, including Helen, a 2009 drama starring Ashley Judd that won a Leo Award in 2009 for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Feature Length Drama and was also nominated for Best Feature Length Drama.

Amy Louise Billings, known professionally as Amy Shark, is an Australian indie pop singer-songwriter-guitarist and producer from the Gold Coast, Queensland. During 2008 to 2012, her early solo material was released and performed under the name Amy Cushway. Her 2016 single "Adore" peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was also listed at number 2 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2016. Her album Love Monster debuted at number 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Shark has won 8 ARIA Music Awards from 29 nominations, including winning Best Pop Release three times: in 2017 for her extended play, Night Thinker, 2018 for Love Monster and 2020 for "Everybody Rise".

Screen Queensland Studios are a set of film studios located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. They are the second of two major studio lots in Queensland, the other being Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.

<i>Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire</i> Upcoming film by Adam Wingard

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is an upcoming American monster film directed by Adam Wingard. Produced by Legendary Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the fifth film in the MonsterVerse. It is also the 38th film of the Godzilla franchise, the 13th film in the King Kong franchise, and the fifth Godzilla film to be completely produced by an American film studio. The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen. Hall, Henry and Hottle reprise their roles from the previous film. In the film, Godzilla and Kong must work together against an undiscovered threat that threatens the Hollow Earth and the surface.
