Tun Hajah Rahah binti Mohamed Noah was the wife of the second Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein (1922–1976) and the mother of sixth Prime Minister Najib Razak. She was the daughter of Mohamed Noah Omar (1898–1991), first Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat and also third President of the Dewan Negara.

Wan Mokhtar bin Wan Ahmad was a Malaysian politician who served as the 11th Menteri Besar of Terengganu. In office for 25 years, he was the longest-serving head of the Terengganu state government. He also served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Kemaman and Member of the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Cukai.

Abdullah bin Ayub was a Malaysian civil servant who served as the 6th Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia from 1 January 1979 to 30 November 1982.

Michael Teo Yu Keng is a Malaysian politician and gynaecologist who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Miri from May 2013 to November 2022. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. He also served as the Vice President of PKR from June 2020 to July 2022. He is also a practicing gynaecologist at Teo's Clinic and Maternity Centre.

Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Yassin was a Malaysian politician who served as the 1st President of the Dewan Negara from 11 September 1959 until his retirement on 31 December 1968. His son, Ismail Abdul Rahman was the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia (1970–1973).

The 1976 Sabah state election was held between Monday, 5 April and Saturday, 14 April 1976. This was the third state election to take place, and the first to feature opposition candidates since the first election on 1967, as the second state election on 1971 has all government candidates won uncontested. The state assembly were dissolved on 23 January 1976, and the nomination day was on 18 March 1976.

The 1967 Sabah state election were held between 8 April to 23 April 1967, with nomination day on 8 March 1967. This was the first state election to take place, after Sabah independence from British and subsequently joining Malaysia in 1963.
