The Syro-Malabar Church, also known as the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, is an Eastern Catholic church based in Kerala, India. It is a sui iuris (autonomous) particular church in full communion with the Holy See and the worldwide Catholic Church, with self-governance under the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches (CCEO). The major archbishop presides over the entire church. The incumbent Major Archbishop is Raphael Thattil, serving since January 2024. It is the largest Syriac Christian church and the largest Eastern Catholic church. Syro-Malabar is a prefix reflecting the church's use of the East Syriac liturgy and origins in Malabar. The name has been in usage in official Vatican documents since the nineteenth century.
Angamaly is a municipality in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. It is located 20 km (12.4 mi) north of the district collectorate in Thrikkakara and about 203 km (126.1 mi) north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. The Archeparchy of Ernakulam–Angamaly is the major archeparchy and the see of the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. It has been the major archeparchy since 1992 when the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church was elevated to the status of a major archiepiscopal church with Ernakulam-Angamaly as the primatal see. The major archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly is the main bishop of the jurisdiction, at the same time the head of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. The eparchies of Kothamangalam and Idukki are the two suffragan eparchies of the major archeparchy.

The St. Mary's Syro-Malabar Cathedral Basilica is a cathedral in Ernakulam, Kerala, India. It was founded in 1112, and is also known by the names Nasrani Palli, Anchikaimal Palli or Thekke Palli. The church is the headquarters of the Major Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly, which is the Primatal See of the Syro-Malabar Church. Currently it’s closed down and under police protection due to dispute between the rebels in the Ernakulam-Angamaly diocese and the Syro-Malabar Hierarchy.
Joseph Parecattil was an Indian prelate of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Ernakulam from 1956 to 1984, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1969. He was the first Cardinal from Kerala and second from India.
Mar Antony Padiyara was a Syro Malabar Major Archbishop and cardinal. He was the First Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. He was Major Archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly from 1985 to 1996, having previously served as Bishop of Ootacamund (1955–1970) and Archbishop of Changanassery (1970–1985). He was elevated to the cardinalate in 1988.
The Mar Augustine Kandathil Memorial Lisie Hospital is a hospital near Kaloor, in Kochi, India. It was founded in memory of Mar Augustine Kandathil, shortly after his demise, according to his original vision and plans, in 1957, by Cardinal Joseph Parecattil as a token of his devotion to St. Thérèse de Lisieux. It is managed by the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly. Lisie Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital and one of the largest in Cochin. The Lisie Heart Institute is a major interventional Cardiology and Cardiothoracic centre. It performed nearly 4000 interventional cardiac procedures and cardiac surgeries in 2006. Their team of doctors was reconstituted in 2008 with the joining of Jose Chacko Periappuram as the Head of Cardiac Surgery and Jacob Abraham as the head of Cardiac Anaesthesia. The present team was instrumental in performing the first total arterial bypass surgery on a beating heart and heart transplantation under Dr. Jose Chacko in the state of Kerala.
The School of Medical Education is a constituent college under the Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies, established by the Government of Kerala. It was previously run by the Mahatma Gandhi University. It is a self-financing professional college, offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the medical and para-medical faculties. It was started at six centres with two centres each at Kottayam and Ernakulam, one centre at Angamaly, one centre at Cheruvandoor, Kottayam. All regional centres are managed by regional directors under the Director of SME. The office of director of SME is at SME main campus in Gandhi Nagar, Kottayam.

Government Medical College, Ernakulam is one of the medical colleges in the state of Kerala situated at Kalamassery, Kochi. It was a government-owned institution established by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education under the Department of Co-operation, Govt. of Kerala, established in the year 1999.
