Thrissur is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala. It is situated in the central part the state. Spanning an area of about 3,032 km2 (1,171 sq mi), Thrissur district is home to over 9% of Kerala's population.
Ollur is a major suburban area and an old commercial town in the city of Thrissur of Kerala state, South India. It is about five kilometres (3.1 mi) away from Swaraj Round on old National Highway 47 (India) towards Kochi. From ancient time onwards, Ollur was a major business centre in Thrissur district. Now, this geographical area is part of Thrissur Municipal Corporation. It is situated between Kuriachira and Thalore on the National Highway. However, a specific identity for this geographical region is still there due to the urban setting of this region and its important religious institutions.

Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is a Hindu temple in the city of Thrissur in Kerala, India. The main deities of this temple are Krishna in the form of a child, and Bhadrakali, both having equal importance. There are sub-shrines for Ganesha, Sastha and Brahmarakshas, and there is a sub-temple for Ganesha behind the temple. The temple is one of the two rival groups participating in the Thrissur Pooram.
Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple is one of the largest Bagavathi temples in Kerala located in Thrissur City. Sakthan Thampuran ordained the temples into two groups, namely "Paramekkavu side" and "Thiruvambady side" for Thrissur Pooram which is the biggest festival in South India and Kerala. These two groups are headed by the principal participants, Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple at Thrissur Swaraj Round and Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple at Shoranur road. The two temples are hardly 500 metres apart. Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is one of the two groups participating in Thrissur Pooram. The Paramekkavu temple devaswom have a school known as Paramekkavu Vidya Mandir at MLA road near Kutoor and one KG section near to the temple itself.
Kuttankulangara Sri Krishna Temple located in Punkunnam, Thrissur district of Kerala, south India and is considered to be over a 300 years old. It is located in the Kuttankulangara ward of Thrissur Municipal Corporation. This temple is a classic example of the Kerala style of architecture. It is 500 m away from Punkunnam Railway station. It is believed that the god gives the fortune of progeny(സന്താനം). There is an interesting ritual called Pannivetta(പന്നി വേട്ട); model of pig is made and a hunter arrows it down at the base of the Banyan Tree (ആല്ത്തറ).

Vilangan Hills is a hillock located in Adat Panchayat, near Thrissur city of Kerala state in India. The hill gives a panoramic view of Thrissur city and Thrissur Kole Wetlands from the top. The hill was referred as an Oxygen Jar of Thrissur city. The name 'Vilangan Kunnu' is a misnomer because 'Vilangan' itself means hill. There is no need of adding 'Kunnu' after 'Vilangan'. It is an ancient Malayalam word derived from proto-Dravidian language. Till the 1970s the word 'Kunnu' was not used by revenue authorities and locals. It is a recent addition. In Tamil too 'Vilangan' means hill.

The beach is situated 5 Kilometers from Guruvayoor Temple Sri Krishna Temple. At this beach the river meets the sea forming an estuary. The meeting point is known as Azhimukham in Malayalam. It is counted amongst Kerala’s most popular beaches because it is unexplored by domestic tourists.
Agricultural Research Station, Mannuthy is a research Station under the Central Zone of Kerala Agricultural University at Mannuthy in Thrissur districts of Kerala, India. This station was established in 1957 as Rice Research Station. Later in 1972 after the formation of Kerala Agricultural University the Rice Research Station along with the Agricultural Research Station brought under the control of KAU. The rice research station and agricultural research stations were merged in 1976 and renamed as Agricultural Research Station, Mannuthy.
