Palakkad is famous for the ancient Palakkad Fort, which is in the heart of the city and was captured and rebuilt by Hyder Ali in 1766 which later fell into the hands of Zamorin in 1784. The Kochi Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Kochi and the wider Kochi Metropolitan Region in Kerala, India. It was opened to the public within four years of starting construction, making it one of the fastest completed metro projects in India. Jose Chacko Periappuram is an Indian cardiac surgeon and medical writer who performed the first successful heart transplant in the state of Kerala, India, as well as the first successful heart retransplant in the country. His other achievements include the first beating heart, awake bypass and total arterial revascularization surgeries in the state. Periappuram is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of London. He is the founder and chairman of "Heart Care Foundation", a charitable trust that financially assists poor heart patients. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, in 2011.

Valakom is a fast growing town located on Kerala State highway One, in the Kollam district of Kerala, India, with a population of 17928. It lies within Kottarakkara municipal town, Ummannoor and edamulackal Panchayat. Valkom is famous for menkari and kapa puzhikiyathu. Gandhi Nagar is one of the two earliest planned housing colonies in Kadavanthra region of Kochi city in the state of Kerala, India. It was developed by the end of the 1970s by Greater Cochin Development Authority, the statutory body overseeing the development of Kochi. What is now Gandhi Nagar was, in the 1970s, abandoned paddy fields, and wet lands. Town Hall Metro Station is a station of Kochi Metro, formerly known as Lissie Metro Station. It was opened on 3 October 2017 as a part of the extension of the metro system from Palarivattom to Maharaja's College. The station is located between Kaloor and M. G. Road. The former name of the station refers to the name of the nearby Lissie Hospital, which, in turns, is derived from Thérèse of Lisieux. The station was renamed on 1 February 2020. Ernakulam Town railway station is located near to this metro station.

Venu Rajamony is an Indian diplomat and professor affiliated with the Indian Foreign Service. He teaches Diplomatic Practice at the Jindal Global Law School of the O.P. On September 17, 2021, he assumed the role of Officer on Special Duty for External Cooperation in the Government of Kerala, holding the rank of Chief Secretary with an office at Kerala House, New Delhi.
