Sioux Lookout is a town in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. Located approximately 350 km (220 mi) northwest of Thunder Bay, it has a population of 5,272 people and an elevation of 390 m (1,280 ft). Known locally as the "Hub of the North", it is serviced by the Sioux Lookout Airport, Highway 72, and the Sioux Lookout railway station. According to a 2011 study commissioned by the municipality, health care and social services ranked as the largest sources of employment, followed by the retail trade, public administration, transportation and warehousing, manufacturing, accommodation and food services, and education.

Johnsondale, California is the nearest town, with the Camp Whitsett, BSA camp around 4 miles from Johnsondale. On July 28, 2011, the Needles lookout, constructed in 1937-1938 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, was destroyed in a structure fire. The lookout tower stood atop the rock formation at 8,245 feet.

Omega was a former settlement in Nevada County, California, United States, first populated in 1850 by a single miner, J.A. Dixon, working a claim during the California Gold Rush. The town was located 3.25 miles (5.2 km) east-southeast of the present-day unincorporated town of Washington, California. A sister town, Alpha, located at what is now the site of the historical Omega Hydraulic Diggings, was about 1 mi (1.6 km) north of Omega. In the mid 1850s, following the introduction of hydraulic mining operations nearby, the town prospered. Omega had a post office, and needed to convert a residence into a jail in late 1858.

Powell Junction is a geographic place name in northeastern Idaho County, Idaho, United States. It is not a community nor has it ever been a place of habitation. There have been three different geographic locations that have carried the name Powell Junction. All three locations are to the north, and slightly west, of Powell Ranger Station. The first Powell Junction was on the Lolo Trail on the high ridge to the north of the ranger station. The trail to the ranger station left the junction and went down Parachute Hill to the ranger station on the north bank of the Lochsa River and south of U.S. Route 12. The second use of the name occurred in 1935 when the Lolo Motorway and the road to Rocky Point Lookout were joined by construction. In recent times, the name has been applied to the junction of the Lolo Motorway and U.S. Route 12.
