Lutske Wester (1870 - 20 January 1912) was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater. [1]

When Wester was 15 years old, she took part in her first competition at Groningen. She was an active speed skater between 1885 and 1908. [2] In the hard winter of 1890-91 she won 10 first prizes and one second prize in 11 days. She skated with several different partners, emphasizing her superiority. [2]

It is written that Wester had a hard life, working on a farm. She was married twice. Her first marriage was to Tjipke Wijmenga and they had one son; when the child was 14 weeks old, she resumed speed skating. Her second marriage was to Cornelis Laverman. She died young on 20 January 1912, aged 41. [2]

Wester was the aunt of speed skater Griet Bijlsma (born 1915).
