Dirkje Kiers (born 20 January 1929) was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater from Eernewoude, who was active in the 1940s and 1950s.
In the 1940s and 1950s Kiers won many prizes with speed skating. She won her earliest prizes in December 1946 in Oudebildtzijl [2] and in Berlicum [3] and Kampen in February 1947. [4] In pairs competitions she rode together with Sipke Zijlstra in 1947. [5] During her career she had many podium places, often behind Aaltje Terpstra, [6] Geeske Koopman [7] and Coba Hoekstra. [8] At the end of her career she won the competition in Grouw on 19 February 1956. She won in the final of Jantje Bosscha. [9]
Kiers married in Eernewoude on 21 May 1953 with F. J. de Vries from Folgere . They were honored by a large amount of known speed skaters. [10]
Kortebaanschaatsen refers to an old form of Dutch ice skating tournament that goes back to the 18th century. It is not to be confused with the modern speed skating sport known as short track speed skating. The sport is similar to harness racing and is similarly setup in two straight lanes of 160 meters.

Jantje Hagenou-Bathoorn was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater from Donderen and later from Peize. One of her earliest competitions was in 1954 and one of her first victory in 1956. She won many prizes. While living in the province of Drenthe she also competed in Friesland; where the best skaters competed. She won several competitions in 1960 in Friesland. In January 1960 she won two main competition in one weekend, winning 200 Dutch Guilders. In 1961 she finished third at the provincial championships of Drenthe. Also in 1962 she continued competing in Friesland.
Lucie Boot-Koops was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater from Uithuizen. She won many competitions in the 1950s. After her marriage she moved to Warffum.
