Riekje Tuinema-Ruben (born 1933 [1] ) was a Dutch sportswoman, most notable as a kortebaan speed skater. She was one of the main kortebaan speed skaters in the 1960s winning many competitions and prizes. She became champion of Groningen between 1958 and 1964. [1] [2] She finished third at the Dutch National Kortebaan Speed Skating Championships in 1964. [1]
Ruben won one of her earliest prizes at the championships of Groningen in 1953 finishing third. [3] The championships was won by, Grietje Dieterman, who she beat the next day in another competition. [4] She started with winning main competitions in the mid-1950s, including in 1955 in Scheemda and in 1956 in Paterswolde (50 Dutch Guilder) and Bedum (100 Dutch Guilder). [5] [6] [7] In the long winter of 1963 she rode 42 competitions, sometimes two competetitions per day. [1]
She won also many prizes in athletics and gymnastics. [1] In athletics she was a member of club “Doles Harkstede”. [8] She finished third at the championships of the Dutch Athletics Federation in the 100 metres in 1957. She also won a medal with swimming in the breaststroke event. [1]
She lived in Borgweg and later in Engelbert . She married to Geert Tuinema in 1956. [1] After her skating career she had her own cafe in Engelstede until September 1992. [9] [10] She played tennis at a recreational level with low-level competitions. [1]

Aaltje Terpstra was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater from Siegerswoude, who was active in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

Tjitske Hartoog-Minkema was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater, who was active at the end of the 1940s and 1950s. She was also an athletics athlete, competing until 1989. She emigrated to the United States.

Jantje Hagenou-Bathoorn was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater from Donderen and later from Peize. One of her earliest competitions was in 1954 and one of her first victory in 1956. She won many prizes. While living in the province of Drenthe she also competed in Friesland; where the best skaters competed. She won several competitions in 1960 in Friesland. In January 1960 she won two main competition in one weekend, winning 200 Dutch Guilders. In 1961 she finished third at the provincial championships of Drenthe. Also in 1962 she continued competing in Friesland.
