The Russian Route M7 (also known as the Volga Highway) is a major trunk road running from Moscow through Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod to Kazan in Tatarstan and Ufa in Bashkortostan. It generally follows the route of the historic Vladimirka road and, to a large extent, forms part of the European route E22. The section from Yelabuga to Ufa is also part of European route E017.

In 1 November 2023, Russian Federal Government announced to shorten the M7 highway to Kazan, [1] by 31 December 2024, the cutted section will be altered to parts of M12 from Shali, Kazan to Diltuli; R240 from Diltuli to Ufa; and R243 for the branch section to either Izhevsk or Perm. [2]

Arzamas I railway station is a major mainline railway station located in Arzamas, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is a junction of Gorky Railway, 115 km from Nizhny Novgorod railway station. The station combines four routes out of Arzamas. It is an important junction, where the Nizhny Novgorod — Arzamas main line, and the railway lines to Kanash, Saransk and Murom diverge. It is approximately 2,4 km from the town center.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">M12 highway (Russia)</span> Future Russian federal highway

The Federal MotorwayМ12 "Vostok", is a highway under construction in the European part of Russia, running between the M7 and M5 highways, serving from the federal city of Moscow to Kazan. Its construction will be finished by 2027 and will cost around 612 billion rubles. On 23 May 2020, it became known that according to the latest plans, it is planned to speed up the construction of the highway and hand it over in 2024. The M12's total length will be 794 km.
