Magadi Road is an elevated metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line of Namma Metro serving the Magadi Road in Bangalore, India. The station was constructed by Punj Lloyd [1] and was opened to the public on 16 November 2015. [2] [3] [4]

Contents

The parking lot at the Magadi Road metro station can accommodate around 200 motorcycles and 50 cars. [5]

Namma Metro, also known as Bengaluru Metro, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Bengaluru, the capital city of the state of Karnataka, India. The 30.5 km (19.0 mi) line connects Nagasandra in the northwest to Silk Institute in the south. The line connects the industrial centers of Peenya and Yeshwanthpur in the north with the central hub of Majestic and the southern residential areas of Bangalore. Green Line is mostly elevated, with 26 elevated and 3 underground stations. The Line passes through Majestic station which is an interchange station between Green and Purple Lines.

The Purple Line is a part of the Namma Metro rail system for the city of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. As of 2023, the line is 43.49 km (27.02 mi) long and spans 37 stations from Challaghatta in the southwest to Whitefield (Kadugodi) to the east. The Purple Line is mostly elevated, with 31 elevated stations, 5 underground stations and 1 at-grade station. The Line passes through many prime activity centers of the city including Whitefield, Krishnarajapura, MG Road, Vidhana Soudha and Majestic station, which is an interchange station between Purple and Green Lines. Phase I of the Purple Line was the first underground metro section in South India.

This metro station will serve as Namma Metro's 2nd interchange station after Majestic metro station for the upcoming Pink Line.

Challaghatta is the elevated western terminal metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line of Namma Metro in the Bangalore border, India. It is on a 2.05 km extension from Kengeri metro station. Alongside the station passes the main Bengaluru - Mysuru NH 275 Expressway which leads towards the cities of Mysore and Mangalore. Trial runs on the new Kengeri - Challaghatta section of the line commenced on 29 July 2023. The station was opened and scheduled services commenced on 9 October 2023. No inauguration ceremony was held, but the new section of line was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on 20 October 2023.
