Krishnarajapura (abbreviated as K.R. Pura) is an important elevated metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line as well as the South-North corridor of the upcoming Blue Line of Namma Metro in Bengaluru, India. [1] This will be an upcoming interchange metro station after Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Stn., Majestic having interchange with Purple and Green Lines. Around this station, holds the main KR Puram Railway station followed by some locations like KR Pura Hanging Bridge leading towards Hoskote, Tin Factory, ITI General Hospital and many more. [2] [3] This station under Blue Line [4] is planned to be operational around the year 2026 (TBC). [5]
The Whitefield - Krishnarajapura trial runs were successfully conducted (under Purple Line) from 25 October for a month. [6] This metro station (under Purple Line) was inaugurated on March 25, 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was commenced to the public on March 26, 2023. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]
In December 2019, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) invited bids for the construction of the metro station, part of the 8.377 km Reach 2A – Package 2 (Kodibeesanahalli - Krishnarajapura) of the 18.236 km Blue Line of Namma Metro. On 13 October 2020, Shankaranarayana Constructions (SNC) was chosen as the lowest bidder for this segment, with their proposal closely matching the initial cost estimates. [13] As a result, the contract was awarded to the company, which led to the beginning of the construction works of this metro station as per the agreed terms.

Namma Metro, also known as Bengaluru Metro, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Bengaluru, the capital city of the state of Karnataka, India. It is the second-longest operational metro network in India with an operational length of 73.75 kilometers, just behind Delhi Metro. Upon its inauguration in 2011, it became the first underground metro system in South India. Namma Metro has a mix of underground, at grade, and elevated stations. Out of the 65 operational metro stations of Namma Metro as of October 2023, there are 57 elevated stations, eight underground stations, one interchange station and one at-grade station. The system runs on standard-gauge tracks.
The Purple Line is a part of the Namma Metro rail system for the city of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. As of 2023, the line is 43.49 km (27.02 mi) long and spans 37 stations from Challaghatta in the southwest to Whitefield (Kadugodi) to the east. The Purple Line is mostly elevated, with 31 elevated stations, 5 underground stations and 1 at-grade station. The Line passes through many prime activity centers of the city including Whitefield, Krishnarajapura, MG Road, Vidhana Soudha and Majestic station, which is an interchange station between Purple and Green Lines. Phase I of the Purple Line was the first underground metro section in South India.
The Blue Line or ORR-Airport Metro Line is part of the Namma Metro rail network for the city of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It consists of two sections - Phase-2A and Phase-2B. Construction of Phase-2A began in August 2021. Construction of Phase-2B began in February 2022. The 58.19 km line connects Central Silk Board with the Kempegowda International Airport. The Line is mostly elevated but also has an at-grade (surface) section close to the Airport and 2 short underground sections where it passes the Jakkur Aerodrome and Yelahanka AFB. There are 30 stations on the line of which the two station/s at the Airport may be at surface level or underground. Blue Line will have interchanges with the Yellow Line at Central Silk Board, Purple Line at KR Pura, Pink Line at Nagawara and with the future /proposed Orange Line at Hebbal.
Marathahalli is an important upcoming elevated metro station on the North-South corridor of the Blue Line of Namma Metro in Bangalore, India. This metro station serves mainly the Marathahalli suburban area and als WeWork, a coworking space company in South Bengaluru and the main Marathahalli Bridge that connects Kundalahalli area and HAL Aerospace Museum along with the Outer Ring Road which leads towards Hebbal in the north and Silk Board in the south. This metro station is slated to become operational around June 2026.
ISRO is an upcoming elevated metro station on the North-South corridor of the Blue Line of Namma Metro in Bangalore, India. This metro serves mainly the Doddanekundi area, which comprises the ISRO Assembly Integration & Testing Centre in South Bengaluru and the Outer Ring Road, which leads towards Krishnarajapuram in the north and Bellandur in the south.
