Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji Stn., Hosahalli (formerly known as Hosahalli) is an elevated metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line of Namma Metro serving the Hosahalli area in Bengaluru, India. It was opened to the public on 16 November 2015. [1] [2] [3]
On 16 November 2015, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers H.N. Ananth Kumar requested the Karnataka Government to rename the station after Balagangadharanatha Swamiji, a Vokkaliga seer. The request was supported by Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had "no objection" to naming the station after the seer and had an "open mind" on the issue. The Hosahalli station is located near the Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana, a religious mutt owned by the Vokkaliga community. [4] [5] Although the station has not yet been renamed, it is referred to as "Sri Balagangadhara Natha Swamiji Station – Hosahalli" in announcements on the Namma Metro. [6]

Vijayanagara, is a residential neighborhood in west Bangalore, India. It derives its name from the Vijayanagara empire that flourished in South India during the 15th and 16th centuries. It is bound by Mysore Road and Magadi Road, with Chord Road cutting through. It is the northernmost area in South Bangalore.

Adichunchanagiri, also called Mahasamsthana Math, is a hill township in Nagamangala Taluk, Mandya District, Karnataka State, India, 110 km west of Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, India and 6 km from Bangalore-Mangalore National Highway 48, northerly to Bellur cross. Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math is situated on a rocky hill at an altitude of about 3,300 ft. above M.s.l. It is the spiritual headquarters of the Natha Parampare and Jogi Cult of Hindus of Karnataka.
Green Line of Namma Metro was built along with the Purple Line during the first phase of construction of the metro rail system for the city of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The 30.5 km (19.0 mi) line connects Madavara in the northwest to Silk Institute in the south. The line connects the industrial centers of Peenya and Yeshwanthpur along Tumakuru Road in the north with the central hub of Majestic and the southern residential areas of Bangalore such as Basavanagudi, Jayanagar, Banashankari, Konanakunte Cross, Thalaghattapura along Kanakapura Road. Green Line is mostly elevated, with 26 elevated and 3 underground stations. The Line passes through Majestic station which is an interchange station between Green and Purple Lines.

As of 2023, the line is 43.49 km (27.02 mi) long and spans 37 stations from Challaghatta in the southwest to Whitefield (Kadugodi) to the east. The Purple Line is mostly elevated, with 31 elevated stations, 5 underground stations and 1 at-grade station. The Line passes through many prime activity centers of the city including Whitefield, Krishnarajapura, MG Road, Vidhana Soudha and Majestic station, which is an interchange station between Purple and Green Lines. Mahatma Gandhi Road is an elevated metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line of Namma Metro in Bengaluru, India. Purple line station was constructed by Punj Lloyd and opened to the public on 20 October 2011. The station MG Road has a bicycle stand next to the Urban Square, from where commuters can rent cycles. This metro station will serve as Purple line's 2nd interchange station after Majestic metro station for the upcoming Pink Line, being constructed by Larsen & Toubro.

Challaghatta is the elevated western terminal metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line of Namma Metro in the Bengaluru border, India. It is on a 2.05 km extension from Kengeri metro station. Alongside the station passes the main Bengaluru - Mysuru NH 275 Expressway which leads towards the cities of Mysore and Mangalore. Trial runs on the new Kengeri - Challaghatta section of the line commenced on 29 July 2023. The station was opened and scheduled services commenced on 9 October 2023. No inauguration ceremony was held, but the new section of line was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on 20 October 2023.
The Orange Line or ORR-West Line is an upcoming metro line serving Bangalore as part of the Namma Metro network in the city. This metro line will serve the industrial areas, manufacturing units, educational institutions, providing connectivity to the southern part of the city, thereby improving last-mile connectivity to commercial centres, industrial hubs, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. The line was approved by the Union Cabinet on August 17th, 2024 and is scheduled for completion in 2029.
