Mahayogi Gorakhnath University is a private university in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. [1] It is established by the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021 (U.P. Ordinance no. 4 of 2021) along with United University and F.S. University [2] and recognised by University Grants Commission (India) under section 12(f) of its act. [3] [4] It is first private university in not only Gorakhpur but in whole Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.

History

President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated this university in Gorakhpur on 28 August 2021 in presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several other local politicians. It is 3th University in Gorakhpur after Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University & Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology and first private university in not only Gorakhpur but in whole Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.

Courses

It is offering only 3 degree courses, BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing and BAMS as of now. [5]

Expressways are the highest class of roads in India. As of July 2023, India has a total length of 4,901 km (3,045 mi) of expressways. Purvanchal Expressway is a 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway connects Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The Purvanchal Expressway has a 3.2 km long airstrip at Akhalkiri Karwat village near Kurebhar in Sultanpur district for emergency landing of aircraft. The construction work was started by the UPEIDA on 10 October 2018 and was inaugurated and opened to the public on 16 November 2021.

Shaheed Ashfaq Ullah Khan Zoological Park or Gorakhpur Zoological Garden commonly known as Gorakhpur Zoo is in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is named after independence activist Ashfaqulla Khan. With an area of 121 acres, it is the second biggest zoo in the state after Kanpur Zoological Park. It was opened for public on 27 March 2021.

The Lucknow–Kanpur Expressway or National Expressway 6 (NE-6), is an under construction 62 km long, 6-lane wide(expandable to 8) access controlled expressway in India's Uttar Pradesh. The expressway will connect Lucknow and Kanpur and will run parallel to NH-27 which connects Kanpur and Lucknow with a distance of about 85 km (53 mi) between existing and proposed parallel roads. The expressway will start from its junction with NH-27 near Shaheed Path in South Lucknow connecting Bani, Kantha, Amarsas and terminating at its junction with NH No. 27 near Kanpur.

It was established through the Uttar Pradesh Act No. 6 of 2020, specializing in Ayurveda, yoga & naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and homoeopathy (AYUSH). It was renamed as Maha Yogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur by the Uttar Pradesh Act No. 6 of 2021.

Sanjay Nishad is an Indian politician serving as a cabinet minister in the Second Yogi Adityanath ministry. He has been a member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council since 2021. As a member of the Nishad caste, he founded the NISHAD Party in 2016.
