The university library was established in 2000 with a meagre collection of 279 books. At present, the library holds the collection on different streams of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and developing sciences. Its collection has reached up to 41,387 volumes of books and 92 learned journals besides 5 daily newspapers and 12 other periodicals. The library serves faculty members, supporting staff, research scholars and more than 50,000 students spread all over Uttar Pradesh. It is the apex body to provide library and information services to its students and others. A regional library at Allahabad Regional Centre has opened as its branch library. It is also in planning to establish regional libraries at other region, Sector – F, Phaphamau, Allahabad. The librarian is Dr. T.N. Dubey.
Uttar Pradesh is a state in northern India. With over 241 million inhabitants, it is the most populated state in India as well as the most populous country subdivision in the world – more populous than all but four other countries outside of India – and accounting for 16.5 percent of the population of India or around 3 percent of the total world population. Lucknow serves as the state capital, with Prayagraj being the judicial capital. It is divided into 18 divisions and 75 districts. On 9 November 2000, a new state, Uttaranchal, was created from Uttar Pradesh's western Himalayan hill region. The two major rivers of the state, the Ganges and its tributary Yamuna, meet at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, a Hindu pilgrimage site. Other notable rivers are Gomti and Saryu. The forest cover in the state is 6.1 percent of the state's geographical area. The cultivable area is 82 percent of the total geographical area, and the net area sown is 68.5 percent of the cultivable area.
The University of Allahabad is a Public Central University located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established on 23 September 1887 by an act of Parliament and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance (INI). It is the 4th oldest modern University in India. Its origins lie in the Muir Central College, named after Lt. Governor of North-Western Provinces Sir William Muir in 1873, who suggested the idea of a Central University at Allahabad, which later evolved to the present university. Its Central University status was re-established through the University of Allahabad Act 2005 by the Parliament of India.
Purushottam Das Tandon was a freedom fighter from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is widely remembered for his opposition to the partition of India, as well as efforts in achieving the Official Language of India status for Hindi. He was customarily given the title Rajarshi. He was popularly known as UP Gandhi. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 1961.

King George's Medical University is a medical school, hospital, and medical university located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The medical school was raised to a medical university by an act passed by the government of Uttar Pradesh on 16 September 2002. It is the only government medical institution to have been awarded the NAAC A+ grade in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

It is located in Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of Uttar Pradesh's state government universities which commenced its first academic session in the year 2008. The Allahabad Museum is a national-level museum in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1931, it is known for its rich collection and unique objects of art, and is funded by Ministry of Culture. Moreover, it is a premier research centre for archaeologists, historians and academicians and carries out extensive research activities and publications in archaeology, art and literature. Its rock art gallery has the largest collection of prehistoric paintings displayed in India dating from 14,000 B.C to 2000 B.C. The museum, using solar power system, has become the first museum in the country to become self-reliant in power generation. The Allahabad Museum is centrally located in the Civil Lines area of the city in a lush green garden at Chandrashekhar Azad Park, popularly known as Company Bagh. It is about 3 km away from the Allahabad railway junction and almost equidistant from three different Railway Stations such as Prayag, Rambagh and Prayagraj junction and about 12 km away from Prayagraj Airport.

He also served as Vice Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University from March 2018 to April 2021.He contributed to environmental studies, regional development, and value education during his academic career. He has served as the Head of the Department of Geography and was the founding Director of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Research Foundation. Prof. Singh has supervised twenty Ph.D. students and a post-doctoral fellow and has published over seventy research papers, policy papers, and seventeen books.
