Era University is a private university established in 2016 [1] by the Era Educational Trust in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. [2] The university offer courses in the fields of medical and allied and paramedical sciences, nursing, pharmacy, basic science, biotechnology, food and nutrition, liberal arts, MHA and computer application. It is the parent institute of Era's Lucknow Medical College.

Mohan Chandra Pant (1956–2015) was an Indian radiation oncologist, institution builder and the founder vice chancellor of the H. N. B. Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun. He served as the director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, and was the Dean and head of the Radiotherapy Department at the King George's Medical University at the time of his death. He received the Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category, from the Medical Council of India in 2005. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to medicine.

Khushwant Lal Wig (1904–1986) was an Indian physician, medical academic, writer and the director of the All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and a recipient of Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1964, for his contributions to the Medical science.

Tallamraju Prabhakar or T. Prabhakar, VSM, MBBS, MD, PDCC, is a retired Deputy Director General of Indian Armed Forces Medical Services and a professor of Anaesthesia. He was first Vice-Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences.

Ravi Kant is a professor of Surgery at Sharda University, who was the director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh from 2017 to 2021 and the Vice Chancellor of King George's Medical University from 2014 to 2017. Rajan Saxena was born on 01-03- in Lucknow and is Dean and Head of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, a medical institution of national importance in India and Padma Shri (2004) awardee. He is an alumnus of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, and specialises in hepatobiliary pancreatic and liver transplant surgery.

Institute under State Legislature Act is a type of university-level institution in India, established or incorporated by a state legislature act. Although such institutes do not come under the higher education department of the state and are run and funded by another department, they enjoy academic status and privileges like state universities. Rajendra Prasad is a chest physician and professor of Pulmonary Medicine based in Lucknow. He is an MBBS (1974) and MD (1979) from King George's Medical College which was then under University of Lucknow. After some time he joined same institution as faculty member and later became head of department of Pulmonary Medicine department of King George's Medical University. He also worked as director of U.P. Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute. Now he is working as Director Medical Education and Professor & Head of Department, Pulmonary Medicine of Era University's ERA's Lucknow Medical College and also doing private practice at his clinic at Lucknow's Aliganj area.
