Marine Corps Installations East (MCIEAST) is the regional authority tasked with providing support and oversight of seven United States Marine Corps installations on the East Coast.
Implement policies, develop regional strategies and plans, prioritizes resources and provides services, direction, and oversight through assigned U.S. Marine Corps Installations in order to support the Operating Forces, tenant commands and activities. [2]
Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is a 246-square-mile (640-square-kilometer) United States military training facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Its 14 miles of beaches make the base a major area for amphibious assault training, and its location between two deep-water ports allows for fast deployments. The main base is supplemented by six satellite facilities: Marine Corps Air Station New River, Camp Geiger, Stone Bay, Courthouse Bay, Camp Johnson, and the Greater Sandy Run Training Area. The Marine Corps port facility is in Beaufort, at the southern tip of Radio Island. It is occupied only during military port operations.
Marine Corps Air Station New River is a United States Marine Corps helicopter and tilt-rotor base in Jacksonville, North Carolina, in the eastern part of the state. In 1972, the airfield was named McCutcheon Field for General Keith B. McCutcheon, one of the fathers of Marine Corps helicopter aviation. Near Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, it shares some facilities with Camp Geiger.
Michael R. Lehnert is a retired major general of the United States Marine Corps. He supervised the construction and served as the first commandant of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp.
The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon is a 24-man rifle platoon led by a Captain and Platoon Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps (USMC).
The United States Marine Corps is organized within the Department of the Navy, which is led by the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV). Camp Geiger is a United States Marine Corps base. Although not geographically connected, Camp Geiger is part of the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune complex, and is home to the United States Marine Corps School of Infantry East for all Marines recruited through the Eastern Recruiting Region. Located off U.S. Route 17 about 10 miles south of Camp Lejeune, it shares the main gate of Marine Corps Air Station New River. It trains approximately 20,000 Marines every year.
Naval Support Activity New Orleans was a United States Navy installation until September 2011. During its time in operation, it was the largest military installation in greater New Orleans. It hosts activities for other branches of service and federal agencies.
Camp Gilbert H. Johnson is a satellite camp of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina and home to the Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools (MCCSSS), where various support military occupational specialties such as administration, supply, logistics, finance, Navy corpsman and motor transport maintenance are trained. Camp Johnson is situated on Montford Point, the site of recruit training for the first African Americans to serve in the Marine Corps, known as "Montford Point Marines".
Major General Carl B. Jensen is a retired United States Marine Corps general officer whose last command was Marine Corps Installations East. Jensen retired from active duty on July 22, 2011 after 36 years of service.

2nd Dental Battalion is unit of the United States Navy that supports United States Marine Corps forces. The battalion includes ten dental clinics and annexes spread throughout North Carolina. The unit is based out of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and falls under the command of the 2nd Marine Logistics Group and the II Marine Expeditionary Force. The current commander is Captain Nadjmeh "Nadji" Hariri.
Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune is a Defense Health Agency facility that is located on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, USA.
Joint Region Marianas' mission is to provide installation management support to all Department of Defense components and tenants through assigned regional installations on Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands in support of training in the Marianas; to act as the interface between the Department of Defense and the civilian community; to ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations, safety procedures, and equal opportunity policy; and perform other functions and tasks as may be assigned.
Marine Corps Installations Pacific (MCIPAC) is the single, regional authority for accountability of regional installation management resources and services within the Pacific area of operations. MCIPAC was established to increase regional installation management effectiveness. MCIPAC implements policies, develops regional strategies and plans, prioritizes resources, and provides services, direction, and oversight to all Marine Corps installations in Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Hawaii.
The Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) was created on October 1, 2011 to oversee U.S. Marine Corps installations through direct oversight, policy creation and coordination, and resource prioritization. MCICOM is currently commanded by Major General David W. Maxwell.
Julian D. Alford is a retired United States Marine Corps major general who last served as the Commanding General of the Marine Corps Training Command from 2021 to 2022. Previously, he served as the Commanding General of the Marine Corps Installations East and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune from August 7, 2017, to June 4, 2021.
