Markaz Law College, is a centre of higher legal education in Kozhikode, India. The law college is the first project launched under the Knowledge City of Markazu Saquafathi Sunniyya, the college is affiliated to the University of Calicut [1] and is recognised by the Bar Council of India. [2] [3] It offers integrated five-year course BBA with Bachelor of Laws and three-year course LLB.

Markazu Saqafathi Sunniyya also called Markaz, Jamia Markaz, or Sunni Markaz, is a national Islamic seminary at Kozhikode in Kerala, India. The seminary is located east of Kozhikode city. The foundation stone was laid by the Saudi Arabian Islamic scholar Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki in presence of Kanniyath Ahmed Musliyar and E. K. Aboobacker Musliyar.

The importance and antiquity of education in Kerala is underscored by the state's ranking as among the most literate in the country. The educational transformation of Kerala was triggered by efforts of the Church Mission Society missionaries, who were the pioneers that promoted mass education in Kerala, in the early decades of the 19th century. The local dynastic precursors of modern-day Kerala—primarily the Travancore Royal Family, the Nair Service Society, Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam and Muslim Educational Society (MES)—also made significant contributions to the progress on education in Kerala. Local schools were known by the general word kalaris, some of which taught martial arts,but other village schools run by Ezhuthachans or Asians were for imparting general education. Christian missionaries and British rule brought the modern school education system to Kerala.

Government Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK), Kerala is an engineering institution under the Department of Technical Education in Kerala, India. Located in Westhill Kozhikode of the Malabar region rich in traditions. The Government Engineering College Kozhikode is one of the five Government Engineering Colleges given sanction in the year 1999. Admissions are based on the performance of students in the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance test. The placements at the college has been increasing every year with many students placed as software and systems engineers at MNCs such as Infosys, TCS and many more. The institution, located in Kozhikode district, has five major engineering disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The institute has some space constraints, having difficulties in building the Boys hostel even the fund has been sanctioned by the state government. College of Applied Science, Calicut also known as IHRD Calicut or CAS Calicut, is a degree-awarding educational institution located in Kiliyanad, in Kozhikode district The college was established in the year 1993 and providing various UG and PG Courses. The college is managed by the Institute of Human Resources Development and is affiliated to the University of Calicut.
