Kozhikode, formerly known in English as Calicut, Arabic as Qāliqūṭ, and Chinese as Kūlifo, is an Indian city, second-largest urban agglomeration in the State of Kerala and 19th largest in the country with a population of two million according to 2011 census. Kozhikode is classified as a Tier 2 city according to Government of India.
Government Medical College, Kozhikode, also known as Calicut medical College or C.M.C, is a school of medicine in Kozhikode in the Indian state of Kerala. The college was established in 1957 as the second medical college in Kerala. The school's campus is spread over 230 acres, and is located about 8 km east of the heart of Kozhikode city. Formerly affiliated to the University of Calicut, the college is now attached to the Kerala University for Health Sciences (KUHS).
