Matthew Sauk (born March 15, 1976) is an arena football coach and former quarterback. He played college football at Utah State, was an af2 quarterback from 2001 to 2005, and an AFL quarterback from 2002 to 2008. He has been a football coach since 2008. After being the offensive coordinator for the Utah Blaze from 2011 to 2013, he became the Portland Thunder head coach in 2014. He was the head coach of the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles of the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2017 and the Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League in 2019.
Sauk attended Detroit Catholic Central High School during the 1990–91 school year. Sauk transferred to Woodbridge High School in Irvine, California for his final three years of high school.
Sauk attended Orange Coast College after graduation high school, where he continued his football career for the Pirates.
Sauk's play at Orange Coast earned him a scholarship to Utah State University, where he continued his football career with the Aggies. Sauk started for two years, earning 2nd Team All-Big West Conference in 1997, while leading the Aggies to the 1997 Humanitarian Bowl.
Sauk spent parts of eight seasons bouncing between the af2 and Arena Football League. In 2001, he was named the af2 Rookie of the Year while playing for the Tennessee Valley Vipers. In 2005, he was named the af2 Offensive Player of the Year while playing for the Louisville Fire.
Sauk joined the Spokane Shock in 2008 as a quarterback and wide receivers coach. After taking 2009 off, Sauk rejoined the Shock in 2010 as the team's offensive coordinator. [1] The Shock won ArenaBowl XXIII under Sauk's offensive guidance.
Sauk joined the Utah Blaze in 2011 as the team's offensive coordinator. During his first two seasons with the Blaze, Sauk was named the Net10 Assistant Coach of the Year, helping quarterback Tommy Grady win the 2012 Arena Football League Most Valuable Player Award. [2]
On October 8, 2013, Sauk was named the head coach of the Portland Thunder that began play in 2014. [3] Sauk was let go following a disappointing 5–13 season and a playoff berth.
Sauk was hired by the Los Angeles KISS in 2015 to be the team's offensive coordinator.
On October 19, 2015, Sauk was hired to become the Orlando Predators's offensive coordinator. [4]
On March 6, 2017, Sauk was hired to become the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles's head coach after the third week into the IFL season. [5]
On February 22, 2019, Sauk was named Head Coach of the Columbus Destroyers for the team's return to the Arena Football League for the 2019 season. [6]

The Columbus Destroyers were an Arena Football League (AFL) team based in Columbus, Ohio, with home games in Nationwide Arena. The team was founded in 1999 as the Buffalo Destroyers, based in Buffalo, New York, and relocated to Columbus in 2004. They folded along with the original incarnation of the AFL following the 2008 season, after a total of ten seasons of play.
The Austin Wranglers are an arena football team based in Austin, Texas. They played four seasons in the Arena Football League from 2004 to 2007 and spent one season in af2, the AFL's developmental league, in 2008. They made playoff appearances in the AFL in 2006 and in af2 in 2008. They played their home games at the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas at Austin. It was announced that the Wranglers will join the National Gridiron League for the 2025 season.
The Green Bay Blizzard is a professional indoor football team based in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, founded in 2003. The Blizzard began play in the Indoor Football League in 2010, after having played the previous seven seasons in af2, the now-defunct minor league of the Arena Football League. The Spokane Shock were a professional indoor American football team based in Spokane, Washington, that played their home games at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. The team was initially a member of arenafootball2 (af2), the Shock won division titles in all four seasons and ArenaCups in 2006 and 2009 before they joined the Arena Football League (AFL) in its 2010 relaunch. The team advanced to the playoffs three times after joining the AFL, winning ArenaBowl XXIII in their first season, making them the only arena football franchise to win both the ArenaCup and the ArenaBowl.
The Columbus Wardogs were an arena football team in af2 that played their home games in the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Georgia, from 2001 through 2004. The franchise was relocated as the Mississippi Headhunters for the 2006 season, but did not play any games.

Joseph Lawrence "Lary" Kuharich Jr. was an American football coach who was most recently the offensive coordinator of the Arena Football League (AFL)'s Columbus Destroyers. He was the son of former Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Philadelphia Eagles head football coach Joe Kuharich and the brother of former New Orleans Saints General Manager Bill Kuharich.

Andrew Olson is an arena football coach and former wide receiver. He was previously the head coach for the Spokane Shock and Portland Thunder of the Arena Football League (AFL). He played his college football at the Western Washington University, and was an af2 wide receiver from 2008 to 2009. He has been a football coach since 2011. After being the offensive coordinator for the Spokane Shock in 2011, he became the Shock head coach in 2012.
The Portland Steel were a professional arena football team based in Portland, Oregon and members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The team started as the Portland Thunder, joining the AFL in 2014 as an expansion team along with the Los Angeles Kiss. The team played their home games at the Moda Center. They were known as the Thunder until the franchise went under league ownership in 2016 and became the Steel.

The Arena Football Hall of Fame is the official Hall of Fame of the Arena Football League (AFL). The inaugural class was announced in 1998 and the Hall was not formally organized until 2011. Prior to 2011, there were four classes: 1998–2000 and then another in 2002. The Arena Football Hall of Fame is the highest honor for players, coaches, and contributors involved in the AFL. The voting process consists of fans and current Hall of Fame members voting on the finalists. The finalists are selected by the League Office in which they collect ballots from the Arena Football Hall of Fame Advisory Board, a group which consisted of former players, executives, journalists and media personnel with a long-time involvement in the league. The league began to decline in 2015, so no Hall of Fame announcements have been made since this year. The league folded for a second time in 2019. After the league's second closure, ArenaFan, a long-running fan site, announced it had taken over operations of the Arena Football Hall of Fame.
